Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0431hrs Radar at 1926hrs 8 to 20 personnel were sighted that where moving west at BS720425 and Charlie Company was informed. At 2000 8 to 10 stationary personnel were sighted at BS728486 and engaged with 44 HE rounds of 105 Artillery. At 2020hrs Sting 73B was activated by stationary personnel and engaged with 16 HE rounds of 105 Artillery. At 2325hrs 3 to 6 stationary personnel were engaged at BS772364 and engaged with 5 HE rounds of 105 Artillery. At 2340hrs the North OP sighted 3 to 4 personnel at BS723440 with Charlie Company informed. At 2350hrs 3 to 6 stationary personnel were sighted at BS766381 and engaged with 10 HE rounds of 105 Artillery. At 0005hrs the North OP sighted 4 to 5 stationary personnel at BS736464 and engaged with 7 HE rounds of 4.2 Mortar. At 0045hrs 3 to 6 Stationary personnel were sighted at BS770393 and engaged with 10 HE rounds of 105 Artillery. At 0245hrs 3 to 5 stationary personnel were sighted at BS720472 and engaged with 13 HE rounds of 105 Artillery. At 0640hrs TMF Sting 71 was activated by 7 personnel that where moving east to west with metal confirmed at BS713437, negative clearance due to a RD Zone. Negative Visual Recon Team available. At 1305hrs Alpha Company the 54 element is at BS743665 and the 26 Engineer are at this location. At 1825hrs TMF String 73B has an undetermined number of stationary personnel confirmed by metal with negative clearance due to an RD Zone. At 1930hrs 26 Engineer at total of 25 acres were cleared in the area BS701547 to BS703546 to BS705543 to BS703548 destroying 9 bunkers and 3 fighting positions. Also destroying 1 105, 2 antipersonnel mines, and evidence of recent bunker use and made of bamboo with steel reinforcement and 4 to 6 foot earth cover with most bunkers adjoining. We have 5 D7 operations with 2 deadlines, 1 AC and 1 M248 operational. At 2108hrs TMF String 73B was activated by stationary personnel with metal confirmed and engaged with 16 HE rounds of 105 Artillery. Legend 1s Platoon 41 to 46, 2nd Platoon 91to 96 and 3rd Platoon 01 to 06 and CO is 09.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company is working on patrolling and providing security for the 26 Engineers. At 1850hrs Alpha Company 91 element received 8 mortar rounds inside their perimeter resulting in 2 US advisors and 2 personnel from PF wounded.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company will continue to use Multiple Patrolling in their Area of Operation.
Charlie Company
August 26, 1970
Charlie Company used multiple patrolling in the Area of Operation today. At 0615hrs the 44 element is moving to BS720437. At 1125hrs Charlie Company the 93 element has closed on their Night Defense Position at BS722422 with negative findings. At 1305hrs Charlie Company the 55 patrol has closed on BS741409. At 1415hrs the 51 element requested an Urgent Dust Off for 1 US with rapture at BS741409. Line # 109 SGT Simpson completed at 1430hrs.At 1935hrs Charlie Company the 94 element is moving to BS738454, the 53 element is moving to BS742395, the 51 element is at BS747402 and the 91 element is at BS734434. At 1953hrs Charlie Company the 01 element is in their Night Defense Position at BS717440.
Delta Company

Delta Company will continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz and the Access Road.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0430hrs 4.2 Mortar Platoon reports Fire Mission 1 for a total expended of HE 7 rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon the 91 element is leaving LZ Liz for BS708438. At 1832hrs Recon Platoon we are at BS719436. At 1930hrs Recon Platoon the 92 element is moving to BS710412and at 1940hrs Recon Platoon 91 is 200 meters east of BS710438 and the 92 element is at BS710412.
