Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0530hrs Battalion Command Message for the day to all units "Practice Light Discipline". At 0730hrs 26th Engineer have one Chieu Hoi who we found inside the wire in our trash dump. He has green fatigues and a pit helmet, no equipment. He had a Hoi Chan Pamphlet on his person on his person. The Chieu Hoi lead Charlie Company to 1 AK47 888913 picked up at BS755435 1 NVA pack and clip ammo for AK-47. At 0905hrs Helix 34 is now on station with fighters will be putting in Air Strike at BS765434. At 0945hrs Helix 34 Bomb Damage Assessment 7 structures destroyed, 2 structures damage. 2 haystacks destroyed, and 4 sustained fires. At 1120hrs LZ Liz Snatch Team picked up 4 females, 1 female was carrying 1 empty bottle US of dextrose and 2 US canteens wrapped in cloth. These people were moving out of mountains at BS718406, where picked up at grid BS717526. At 1330hrs 109 PF at BS830337 PF Platoon 109 found US lying in road (road unknown). He was shot by sniper and fell out of a truck and truck went on without him with results 1 US WIA (E) was evac to LZ Bronco. The US was from Charlie Company 19 Engineer (info only). At 1600hrs 1-20 Infantry all field commanders and staff officers, informed of 1000hrs meeting of 27 August 1969 at LZ Liz.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion. At 0645hrs E Troop 1 Cav at BS827255 a ACAV detonated 105 rigged as mine on road to Charlie Brown. Results 5 US WIA (E) (no flesh wounds, concussion). ACAV total combat loss, Dust Off completed at 0705hrs. At 1320hrs Charlie Company 19 Engineer at BS820348 engaged unknown size enemy force 11 Vehicle Convoy (5 Ton Trucks) received small arms fire results total 4 US WIA (E) with 1 vehicle combat loss. Gun Ships on station, Dust Off completed at 1400. Enemy broke contact at 1435hrs with results total 4 US WIA (E), 1 US KIA. At 1855hrs LZ Bronco reports they are on White Alert received 3 140mm rockets. Charlie Company 19 Engineer has PFC FRANKIE STANLEY LISTED AS KIA.
Alpha Company
August 26, 1969
At 0500hrs Alpha Company 66 element closed on the Night Defense Position and at 0634 Alpha Company the 66 element checking out OP location. At 1100hrs Spot Report from Alpha Company, about 1 mile from Alpha Company southern most road security team said that the engineers were taking heavy fire. At 1050hrs Alpha Company 44 element with PRU have one VC KIA and M-16 captured. And possible 3 other VC trapped and putting 81mm on them. At 1435hrs Alpha Company Night Defense Position BS715593 and message all field Commanders and staff officers informed of 1000hrs meeting for 27 August 1969 at LZ Liz. At 1900hrs Alpha Company request urgent Dust Off for 1 US with frag wounds, also 1 Vietnamese baby son with frag wounds. The man was digging a foxhole when he detonated a booby trap, M-26 grenade, injuring himself (Treviso) and Vietnamese baby ETA 15 minutes completed at 1918hrs.
Bravo Company
August 26, 1969
At 0610hrs Bravo Company now in a blocking position BS780460 at 0740hrs our 85 element is making a sweep through with PRU at 0820hrs we are in Ville with PRU and checking out the Ville. We will then move through the Ville 200 meters southwest and check it out. The 34 and 64 element is moving back to Night Defense Position site to pick up their gear. At 1035hrs we are now at our Day Logger at BS770457. At 1130hrs Bravo Company the 84 element with PRU received 2 Hoi Chan at BS788405, they had turned themselves into village chief and the Village chief turned them into the little people. These Hoi Chan were wearing blue shirts with green pants, we have 4 VCS that were picked up when making the sweep through Ville 3 females, and 1 male VCS. The PRU think 1 male is some kind of political leader. At 2100hrs Bravo Company has moved into their Night Defense Position at BS784430 snake at BS777447. At 2010hrs our 44 element roving patrol reports 1 VC KIA, 1 M-2 carbine captured and he was wearing black shorts, blue shirt was 17-22 years old, had one magazine for weapon wearing 61 shower shoes, also found blood trail, negative results on finding the other body.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company has the Security Mission for LZ Liz and Access Road. The Chieu Hoi lead Charlie Company to 1 AK47 888913 picked up at BS755435 1 NVA pack and clip ammo for AK-47. At 11220hrs Charlie Company at BS718460 observation 100 Vietnamese moving out of mountains. Detainee 4 men with 2 US canteens, will evac to LZ Bronco. At 1607hrs Charlie Company the 64 element at Ville at BS762430 and are burning it and at 1915hrs our 64 element has returned negative results.
Delta Company
August 26, 1969
Delta Company at 0523hrs is moving out of Night Defense Position and checking out Day Logger Position at BS715428. Delta Company is moving out for a Recon in Force toward grid BS705420. Delta Company moved into their Night Defense Position is located at BS715428 and at 2030hrs Delta Company reports the 84 and the 64 elements snakes are in position by 2055hrs.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. 4.2 Platoon reports Defense Targets 1, Observe Mission 6, expend 27 HE and Illumination 2 rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 0622hrs Recon Platoon is moving out at this time. At 0915hrs Recon is located at BS809459. At 0915hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS802462. At 1555hrs Recon Platoon is located at BS810456. At 2020hrs Recon Platoon in their snake location at BS812459.
