Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0250hrs 1-20 Infantry LZ Liz is on practice alert and ends at 0315hrs. At 0305hrs MACV MO Duc RF 103 reported Nu Deo OP vicinity BS776535 has received small arms, machinegun fire also 82mm mortar fire and also under ground attack from estimated VC Battalion form the north, northwest, request Gun ships. At 0313hrs Mo Duc reports receiving sporadic small arms fire unknown type. At 0335hrs Mo Duc reported that approximately VC squad crossed highway 1 vicinity grid BS732545 and fired sporadic small arms and continued to evade west and southwest. At 0410hrs Musket 33 chase ship and Dolphin 23 is on station. At 0320hrs TO Commanding Officer 11 Brigade from Commanding Officer 1-20 Infantry: Practice alert conducted at Fire Support Base LZ Liz for Command Post and Charlie Company during the hours of 0245hrs to 0315hrs, 26 April rating Satisfactory, response much better then last night. Individual defensive sectors were fired, critique will be held in AM. At 0442hrs MACV Mo Duc RF 103 at BS776536, requested Urgent Dust Off for 4 RF, 1 with gunshot wound to abdomen, 3 with multiple frag wounds received in attach on Nui Deo, 2 WIA evac from Nui Deo at BS776536 and 2 more WIA evac from Nui Ong Do at BS769531. Musket 33 and Dolphin 23 broke station at 0557hrs Dust Off completed at 0557hrs. At 0511hrs Alpha Company has 8 Mechanical Ambushes, Bravo Company has 4 and Delta Company has 7 Mechanical Ambushes out. At 0835hrs 1-20 Infantry Primo 4 is on station at this time. At 0915hrs 1-20 Infantry Warlord 21 is on station for Box 51. At 1003hrs Primo 4 broke station. At 1005hrs To Brigade S-3 from 1-20 Infantry S-3: Nui Ong Do Village attacked last night around 0330hrs by small arms and some 60mm mortars, results 4 Vietnamese civilians WIA (Dust Off) and 4 other Vietnamese civilians WIA minor. At 1900hrs MACV Mo Duc OP Max, requested Urgent Dust Off for 1 RF with gunshot wounds to chest and stomach. Received negative clearance from Vietnamese Air Fore (THE) and was received by (KWH). Got wounds from contact 2 clicks to the west, sniper fire, Bird #58, Dust Off completed at 1910hrs. At 1948hrs LZ Dragon reports incoming 57RR or B 40 rockets from the east. At 2015hrs TMF Fire Mission at 2006 String 295 Target A, 3 to 5 personnel moving west to east at 3 miles per hour with negative metal confirmation and negative clearance, code 1. Legend: 1st Platoon 51, 2nd Platoon 26, 3rd Platoon 13, 4th Platoon 17, CO-66.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

At 0844hrs, Alpha Company 3rd Platoon is in Patrol Base vicinity BS670531, 1st Platoon moving out with pick and shovel people to preplanned vicinity BS680510. At 0901 Alpha Company 1st Platoon patrol at BS674511 found 3 (one man) spider holes with camouflaged overhead cover which was turning brown, 3-4 days old, 2-3 deep and 2-3 in diameter. The holes were located along a trail and were destroyed. At 1145hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon patrol with Engineers have reached the dam site at grid BS681505, the dam was constructed from wood and was 71/2 long, 8wide and 4 high, was blown in place. At 1431hrs Alpha Company 3rd Platoon patrol found 1 51 Caliber Pt 6 X 8 X 4 at grid BS659532. It was partially caved in with bush as camouflaged all around it, about 2 months old and destroyed it. At 1500hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon Daylight Ambush is moving to BS680535. At 1923hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon spotted 3 personnel in open with packs and weapons vicinity BS661501, moving north, 1st Platoon set up a hasty ambush position, Artillery Fire Mission called in and will check area at 1st light. At 2000hrs Alpha Company reports locations Command Post and 2nd Platoon and 4th Platoon is at BS681537, with 2nd Platoon ambush at BS680529. Alpha 1st Platoon changed to BS668513 and 3rd Platoon is at BS674548.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued their setting up of Patrol bases and conducting Saturation Patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0732hrs Bravo Company 3rd Platoon is in their Patrol Base vicinity BS718404. At 0745hrs Bravo Company Command Post and 1st Platoon is moving out to Patrol base at BS723449. At 0732hrs Bravo Company 1st Platoon patrol is moving to BS715445. At 0844hrs Bravo Company 2nd Platoon patrol is moving to sweep area of Mechanical Ambush and proceed with original scheduled patrol vicinity BS701432. At 1237hrs Bravo Company 1st Platoon patrol with a TMF unit is moving out to #61, #62 and # 63. At 1745hrs Bravo Company 1st Platoon Patrol is moving out to set up Mechanical ambushes at BS718453 and BS717452. At 1947hrs Bravo Company Command Post and 1st Platoon is Night Defense Position at BS722444, 2nd and 4th Platoon is at BS711427 with the 3rd Platoon at vicinity BS714414. At 2108hrs Bravo Company 3rd Platoon Leader while moving into Night Defense Position fell into a hole. Medic said his leg is fractured or possible broken. Request Priority Dust Off at 1st Light, completed DATE/TIME 270640hrs April 1971.
Charlie Company

At 0511hrs Delta Company has 7 mechanical ambushes out at present time. Delta Company used Saturation Patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0937hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon in Patrol Base vicinity BS710475, 4th, 1st Platoons and Command Post is moving out to Patrol Base vicinity BS708494. At 1002hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon is moving out for BS713477. At 1630hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon patrol closed with negative findings vicinity BS708475. At 1640hrs 1st Platoon patrol is moving out to set up Mechanical Ambushes vicinity BS718453 and BS717452. At 1855hrs Delta Company, Command Post spotted 15 personnel with packs and weapons vicinity grid BS705485. Artillery fired and gun-ships requested but negative guns available. Still firing Artillery at 1933hrs will check area at 1st light. At 1940hrs Delta Company Command Post 4th Platoon 1st Platoon moving to BS711491. At 2111hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon at their Night Defense Post at BS710479.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon is located on Nui Vong Liz continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry.
