Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0330hrs Fire Support Base at BS688327 has been rename Jeff. At 1000hrs Major Boozer reports on 28 April from 0800hrs to 1330hrs for religious ceremonies to be held at village at BS766451. At 1200hrs General Clements visit was pretty routine but he did discuss two things 1. Company locations 11th Brigade element will an element of the 4th ARVN Regiment west of Quang Nagi at the Old French Fort for an indefinite period. 2 speculated on American Units keeping fact sheet on district Headquarters deficiencies with bridges being blown right under RF/PF noses and happening of this nature as a means of evaluating district process effort for reporting purposes to higher Headquarters. At 1410hrs Informed CPT Webster that the RF/PF operations they request in the 1-20 Infantry Area of Operation is disapproved because of the 1-20 Infantry Operations in that area. At 0805hrs 1-20 Infantry request 6 tracks for Delta Company 27 April 69 was disapprove at 1505hrs.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 2110hrs LZ Bronco Defense spotted 3 individuals fire 8 rounds of 155 at BS84554065 with Negative assessment. At 2206hrs spotted movement at BS826311 fire 4 rounds of 155mm on grid. At 0845hrs Charlie Company 19th Engineer at BS917169 Mine Sweep point man heard movement in bushes about 3 meters off road in culvert point man open fire on culvert results 1 VC KIA and 1 (M-14) magazine with 50 rounds. At 2206hrs LZ Bronco Base Defense reports movement at BS823311 also at BS825409 fired 4 rounds 155mm Artillery on both grid, movement left screen on contact of found. At 1210hrs Base Defense reports 1 moving northeast at BS82364039.
Alpha Company
April 26, 1969
Alpha Company is OPCON to the 4-21 Infantry. At 1000hrs Alpha Company is at BS658298 their new Day Logger with leaving elements leaving for BS657298 to BS662295 to BS652298 to 652295. At 1340hrs Alpha Company found at BS663293 found warm fires, and fresh cut brushes. At 1750hrs Alpha Company at BS658297 their Night Defense Position with the 33 at BS659298 and 54 at BS653297.
Bravo Company
April 26, 1969
At 0810hrs Bravo Company is located at BS718442 and the 31 element is at BS711478. At 0900hrs Bravo Company is at BS718462 and the OP received 5 rounds of sniper fire from the east and returned fire with negative results. Had two WHA and have called in Air Strikes and will Dust Off after the Air Strikes Dust Off completed at 0940hrs. At 0940hrs Bravo Company at BS723458 put another Air Strike with napalm and 20mm cannon fire and 500 pound bombs, had one second explosion, red ground fire and Bravo Company element is closing in to check out area now.
Charlie Company

At 1010hrs Charlie Company in Day Logger at BS768402 with 21 at BS776462, 51 at BS762392. At 1115hrs Charlie Company at BS750380 found trench line 10 to 12 feet deep, 20 to 25 feet long well packed area, possible ambush site or Night Defense Position for VC. Also same area found tunnel which was lined with clay tiles blew tunnel with C4 and had a large secondary explosion believed to be a Booby Trap 155 rounds. At 1245hrs Charlie Company at BS751398 found a tunnel entrance 4’ by 5’ wide 2 levels of tunnel, 6’ and 12’ deep. At 1845hrs Charlie Company location is at BS769402, with 31 at BS761397 and 51 at BS747405.
Delta Company
April 26, 1969
Delta Company continued their Security mission for LZ Liz. At 0725hrs Delta Company conducts a Combat Assault from LZ Liz to LZ at BS816409 and completed at 0748hrs. At 1020hrs LZ Liz priority Dust Off for 6 Vietnamese civilians they were pounded last night by H&I fire from Artillery completed at 1055hrs. At 1115hrs Delta Company 1 VC evaded, no ID at BS82341 one KIA. At 1250hrs Delta Company at BS814403 found 100 rounds of M-60 ammo links in a bunker near river blew in place. At 1435hrs Delta Company vicinity BS808407 engage bunker with hand grenades with result 1 secondary explosion and one US WIA Dust Off completed at 1432hrs to Bronco. At 1845hrs Delta Company reports their night locations, 54 at 402U, 55 at BS752464 and 53 at BS754420.
Echo Company
April 26, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 0810hrs Recon Platoon conducts a Combat Assault PZ at 0734hrs and LZ at 0748hrs, then PRU Combat Assault last LZ at 0811hrs. At 0810hrs Recon Platoon with PRU report their location at BS823403. At 1010hrs Recon with PRU report their location at BS824404. At 1215hrs Recon Platoon at BS822403 found 1 male KIA age 30-35, wearing black PJ, negative ID and killed by small arms fire 1 VC KIA. At 1345hrs Recon Platoon at BS822403 PRU detained 1 VCS also PRU were extracted and took VCS with them to MACV. At 1845hrs Recon Platoon reports their Night Defense Position at BS825397.
