Forward Area 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Ross for Operation WHEELER-WALLOWA and are OPCON to the 198th Light Infantry Brigade. At 0456hrs 1-20 Infantry the 26th Engineer working for 1-20 Infantry destroyed 2 105 rounds and 1 155 round, 1 Vietnamese female hit, she has internal injuries, called Dust Off but female died before Dust Off could get there. At 1705hrs LRRP Helen was extracted at 1728hrs and Sue at 1730hrs.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0808hrs Bravo Company 19th Engineer reports bridges at BS778493 and BS783434 were blown and burned and at 1045hrs reports Road open to LZ Dragon by pass will pass traffic. At 1143hrs Charlie Company 39 Engineer reports road open from LZ Dragon to Chu Lai. At 1445hrs Charlie Company 26 Engineer had a bull dossier turner over on its side at the dump, 1 man slightly hut and taken to the 6th Support.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company and Recon Platoon and Bravo Company 2-1 Infantry where conducting a search up the draws vicinity at AT9128 and at AT9228 respectively. At 1000hrs Alpha Company vicinity AT911262 found 2 US shotguns AT6973 and AT6945 hidden in bush. Late in the Day Alpha Company moved out to southwest searching up draws vicinity at AT9127 and at AT9026 and will link up with Bravo Company vicinity AT8925 and begin searching for main trails leading into the high ground. The Recon Platoon will conduct Search and Destroy operations in the Hiep Duc area and Bravo 2-1 infantry will returned to the control of 2-1 Infantry.

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Ross and their Road Security for 535 Highway.

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Ross and their Road Security for 535 Highway. At 1725hrs Delta Company found blood and pieces of a body where they shot artillery at 1040hrs this morning. (the location of Alpha Company contact this morning.)
Echo Company

Echo Company is located at LZ Ross where Battalion Forward is located and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and the Base Defense or LZ Ross. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Ross where they continue to provide direct fire support for the Battalion. SP4 Allan Simms was evac to USA Hospital Camp Zama Japan. At 0030hrs 1-20 OP at Dragon received small arms fire from 1 automatic weapon 200-300 meters from perimeter, fire coming from southwest.
