Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0930hrs Bravo Troop 1-1 Calvary 26 element at BS784459 and the 36 element is at BS817455 with 1 vehicle on LZ Dragon. At 1500hrs S-5 1-20 Infantry at BS725538 made following VIP purchase 1 4.2 dud, 2 M-79 rounds and 1 fuse from a 105 and paid 100 Piasters. At 2020hrs Bravo Troop 1-1 Calvary at BS662567 has 1 female detainee very old hasn’t eaten in 3 days. At 2100hrs Bravo Company VIP fund paid 150 Piasters to Phamngoc-Hung acted as interpreter for Bravo Company and resulted in 6 VC CIA and 1 KIA. Legend 1st Platoon: 54-59, 2nd Platoon 84-89, 3rd Platoon 34-39, 4th Platoon 04-09 and CO 12.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

At 0820hrs Alpha Company at BS653575, the 84 element swept contact area found tracks, that confirmed that 7-12 enemy had split up and went southwest. Alpha the 54 found and checked 2 bodies KIA in contact yesterday, both 20-21 years of age and found the following 1 claymore, 320 Vietnamese National P’s, ID card with picture, 1 Chieu Hoi Paper, 1 green set of cloths, receipt for an M-1 Carbine.
Bravo Company

At 1535hrs Bravo Company 34 has closed on BS712584, 58 has closed on BS733652 38 in location BS715590 and the 34 element is moving to BS712574. At 1615hrs Bravo Company at BS733652 requests Urgent Dust Off for Vietnamese child with unknown type snake completed at 1635hrs.
Charlie Company

At 0932hrs Charlie Company all elements in pick up location and the 54 element at BS768466. At 0930hrs Charlie Company Half on LZ Dragon and Half lined up with B Troop 1-1 Calvary tracks. At 1220hrs Charlie Company 12 element and funny wheels moving out. At 1420hrs Charlie Company 12 elements and Funny wheels tracks at BS691524 for resupply. At 1550hrs Charlie Company reports 84, 54 and the 34 element moving to BS680516. At 1700hrs Charlie Company at this time 3 out of the 7 tracks area stuck and estimated time to get free 1 hour. The 12 element has 3 patrols moving to location given by S-3 have not reach destination. Charlie Company 12 element at BS681513 found 4 sleeping position, 1 man sized in hedgerow, believed used last night. At 1750hrs Charlie Company 900 meters north of objective area, found charcoal of three fires. At 1930hrs Charlie Company and B 1-1 Calvary ate now in the vicinity BS681513. At 1900hrs Charlie Company 84, 54 and 37 in location at BS686560. At 1930hrs Charlie Company Bravo Troop 1-1 Calvary vicinity BS681513, they found 3 fire places, 4 sleeping places in their main objective area, no major trails, 1 cornfield and 1 Rice paddy, ripe and ready for harvest. Kit Carson Scout felt 7 to 10 VC in area cultivating crops and fled to southwest they heard the tracks.
Delta Company

At 0822hrs Delta Company 36 element has closed at grid BS743556, the 86 has closed at BS760565 and the 56 element is moving out for BS734585. At 0911hrs Delta Company 56 element at checkpoint 2 BS732588, the 86 is at checkpoint BS748562 and 35 Day Ambush moving out for BS746556, and the 57 element moving to BS728582. At 0930hrs Charlie Company half Charlie Company on LZ Dragon linked with tracks. At 1315hrs Delta Company 54 element at BS709566 requests Urgent Dust Off for 1 US, hit booby trap. At 1315hrs Delta Company 54 moved into area they received sniper fire from, engaged 1 male, 1 female, both of military age, was evading and male age 35. Results 1 male, green uniform, US pistol belt with 3 frag, 1 female age 25 with pack blue top, black bottoms, also 1 female 15 trying to evade out of area slight wounds in leg. At 1440hrs Delta Company Wrap UP 34 at BS706565, found booby trap smoke fuse with can of Petna, with trip wire, located in hedgerow. Outside Ville found 2 more of same type same placement at BS707565, Delta 56 the booby trap that hit US was a pressure release, Petna with shrapnel, located in front of a house, inside a Ville at BS709566. Delta 84 found a hand frag in a hole at BS706566 pressure release, had a small piece of tile covering the hole, all booby traps destroyed. At 1535hrs Delta Company 88 at BS703567 found 2 booby bouncing Betty types on trail underground and both were pressure type devices, both destroyed in place. At 1645hrs Delta Company 34 at BS708566 found bundle of documents, 3 guerilla green uniforms, diagram of booby trap area’s found some documents Brigade Information, and medical will evacuate tomorrow. At 2110hrs Delta Company at BS718553, the 84 element heard movement, fired Illumination from LZ Snoopy, believes they have 2 WIA and possible KIA, the 84 element had received small arms fire and saw 2 to 4 packs with rucksacks and weapons through starlight, looked like they were wearing white loincloths. Illumination was also shot from Bravo Troop and Charlie Company at 2157hrs, 155 Artillery Illumination was shot at 2203hrs, 86 element checking out area came across some piles of straw, checked them out with negative finding will send out a patrol at break of day. Late reports add 2 KIA (VC) to Delta Company and change WIA female to KIA total wrap up 5 KIA. SSGT Franklin L. Norton was evac to the 91st Evac Hospital with multiple frag wounds to body and traumatic amputation left foot.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for (1-20 Infantry TASK FORCE HONIJYO). At 1610hrs Recon Platoon is moving to link up with Bravo Company 84 at BS665586. At 1815hrs Bravo Company 85 and Recon Platoon linked up at BS648584. PFC William Jones was attached to the 91st Evac Hospital (11B10).
