Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0703hrs Alpha and Charlie Company Combat Assault Red (Alpha Company) 1st PZ 0620hrs LZ 0637hrs, 2nd PZ 0642hrs LZ 0652hrs, 3rd PZ 0655hrs LZ at 0659hrs, 4th PZ 0707hrs LZ 0713hrs. Yellow (Charlie Company) 1st PZ 0625hrs LZ 0637hrs, 2nd PZ 0642hrs LZ 0652hrs, 3rd PZ 0655hrs LZ 0659hrs. Alpha Company and Charlie Company PRU finish their LZ 0715hrs and 0720hrs. At 0723hrs Brigade to 1-20 Infantry when talking to Brigade Command Officer or S-3 don’t end your conservation with anything further, negative further of etc, just use over or roger out. At 1545hrs Helix 33 FAC reported that his fighters took hits from small arms weapons, white putting in Air Strike in on BS822441. At 1552hrs Helix 33 FAC Air Strike is going into BS822441. Warlord Lead Warlord Lead will be making a Visual Recon in the (1-20 Infantry) Area of Operation. At 1740hrs Helix 33 FAC we have completed the Air Strike on grid BS822441 we destroyed some hootches and fighting positions. MACV Duc Pho our US personnel that is working with you will not be changed.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion.
Alpha Company
September 25, 1969
At 0620hrs Alpha Company start their Combat Assault with Charlie Company 1st PZ 0620hrs and Last LZ 0713hrs. At 0955hrs Alpha Company found one pressure type 105mm booby trap blew in place, at BS799489. At 1015hrs Alpha Company Earlier this morning found a warhead 2" by 6" and blew it in place lot SAA 27A C-52. At 1135hrs our 01 element has closed, all elements are at grid BS799489. At 1500hrs Alpha Company at BS799489, detained 4 VCS negative ID, 25-40 evac to Bronco. At 1750hrs Alpha Company our PRU spotted a VC evading with a weapon to our southwest, he was wearing a helmet. At 1800hrs Alpha Company our present location BS8004488 will be staying in this location until dark and then move into our Night Defense Position. At 2000hrs Alpha Company we spotted 5 VC/NVA running toward our location at BS811486 from the south, are firing M-79 on them. They are down at this time, the 01 element is checking out the area and have the VC/NVA pinned down. At 2030hrs Alpha Company moved into their Night Defense Position at BS811483.
Bravo Company

At 0755hrs Bravo Company moved into their Day Logger position and used multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0845hrs Bravo Company 61 is in location, mine sweep has passed their location so the road machine should reach them shortly. At 0847hrs Bravo Company 01 element will be moving out on patrol to grid BS775425. At 1930hrs Ranger squad is moving out for the night patrol and at 2300hrs Closed on South Bridge. At 2030hrs Bravo Company moved into their Night Defense Position at BS784431.
Charlie Company

At 0555hrs Charlie Company we are moving off the hill at this time. At 0625hrs Charlie Company starts their Combat Assault with Alpha Company and PRU and last LZ at 0720hrs. At 0730hrs Charlie Company at BS792489 on a Condon and Search Operation by 1145hrs Charlie Company reports their location at BS790471 which is our Day Logger. At 1600hrs Charlie Company at BS790471 and 2030hrs Charlie Company is moving into their Night Defense Position at BS790474 with 34 at BS794475 and 33 at BS796472.
Delta Company

At 0555hrs Delta Company we are closing on LZ Liz at this time. At 0750hrs Delta Company at LZ Liz and Delta Company taken over the Security Mission for LZ Liz and the Access Road.
Echo Company
September 25, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0645hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Defense Target for total expended 2 HE and 1 WP rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon reports their location at BS775446. At 1400hrs Recon reports that they have closed on LZ Liz. Recon Platoon will take over their Security Mission for LZ Liz and the 1-20 Infantry.
