Headquarters and Headquarter Company
October 25, 1968

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Thunder and will continued to work with ARVN units their Area of Operations. At 0007hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC request Dust Off for Navy man with high fever and delirious condition, from Hard Stand at LZ Charlie Brown, Dust Off completed at 0037hrs.

Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0120hrs LZ Bronco Base Defense reports 2 mortar rounds impacted inside LZ Bronco perimeter near bunker 30 vicinity BS814376, 2 other rounds landed just outside perimeter near Carentan Road. Origin of rounds unknown however suspected friendly 81mm from MT Bronco, can not be confirmed as mortar section states that as mortar section states that they were firing preplan targets in blocks, which are plotted north of LZ Bronco, # of rounds fired by 81mm mortar section # rounds of rounds impacting LZ Bronco.

 

Alpha Company
October 25, 1968

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. Alpha Company 68 is located at BS753445.

 

Bravo Company
October 25, 1968

At 1015hrs Bravo Company 40 at BS726501 on defense sweep around LZ Dragon and at 1610hrs Bravo Company is at LZ Dragon Security Mission.

 

Charlie Company
October 25, 1968

Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Thunder with Search and Sweeps and night ambushes.

 

Delta Company
October 25, 1968

At 0825hrs Delta Company reports the M-79 was lost when Tucker drowned is 73897. At 1015hrs Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown with the 68 and 40 elements at BS935222. At 1935hrs Message G-3 Plans: Major Jones stated that they will be having a planning conference tomorrow concerning an operation in the area which Logan Field was conducted. He would like to know if Colonel Quinn could make the conference should it be determined during the progress of the conference that he could lend information as to terrain and lessons learned. Colonel Quinn said he would be available to attend the conference, it was in the afternoon. At 2220hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC request 8 APC E Troop previously scheduled for vicinity LZ Liz, change instructions to have them report to Base of LZ Thunder and make a pick up of PRU at Duc Pho compound en route.

 

Echo Company
October 25, 1968

Echo Company is located at LZ Thunder where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Thunder. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Thunder and 2 squads on LZ Charlie Brown where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion). Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for LZ Dottie with 1 Platoon from Bravo Company.
