Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0305hrs Blue Ghost is on station in box 63 with the nearest friendly 2000 meters west. At 0320hrs Blue Ghost broke station with negative findings. At 0645hrs MACV Mo Duc at 2245hrs RF 147 with a PF counter intelligence squad made contact with a squad of VC at BS720609. The results are 1 PF KIA, 5 RF WIA, 2 VC KIA and 5 Chi Com Grenades CIA. At 2100hrs a PRU force made contact with an unknown size force at BS BS744547 with no friendly casualties and 4 VC KIA, 3 pistol belts, 3 canteens and 5 homemade Chi Com CIA. At 0815hrs Primo 5 (LOH) we spotted 1 suspect enemy at vicinity BS753457 dressed in black pajamas with Recon Platoon informed. Recon 21 element went into the area with negative findings. At 0904hrs TMF String 76 was activated by stationary personnel with no metal confirmation, engaged with 8 HE of 155mm artillery shot at 0856hrs, Visual Recon Team was not available. At 0905hrs FAC 32 at BS799473 we spotted 4 Vietnamese with 1 evading and the other 3 picking up wood and then moved west along a trail. At 1645hrs TMF at 1630hrs String 74 target B3, have 3 personnel moving east to west at 2 miles per hour. The target was confirmed by metal, negative clearance was given due to a RD Zone. S-5 report: PSYOPS were conducted at the following girds BS7160 and BS7063 with 56,000 VIP leaflets dropped, at BS7242 with 28,000 Chieu Hoi leaflets and 10 minutes of tape targeted at C219. Also at BS7460 with 28,000 Chieu Hoi leaflets and 5 minutes of tape targeted at C19 and at BS7268 with 28,000 Chieu Hoi leaflets and 5 minutes of tape targeted at C-65, with Brigade PSYOPS were conducted at BS7559 with 15 minutes of tape at C19. At 2020hrs Radar 3 to 5 stationary personnel were sighted at BS728434 with negative clearance due to the proximity of a Ville. At 2045hrs Primo 3 Late report, A Pink Team engaged two VC with weapons resulting in 1 VC KIA, 1 SKS CIA, 1 pistol belt and 1 hand frag CIA at grid BS805464. At 2114hrs Charlie Company the 54 element is at BS736568, the 24 element is at BS734574, the 24 element is at BS734574 and the 34 ambush is at BS744555 and the 58 element is at BS743580. Legend: 24-29 1st Platoon, 34-39 2nd Platoon 54-59 3rd Platoon and 20 is Commanding Officer.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
July 25, 1970
Alpha Company is using Day Loggers and saturation patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 1032hrs Alpha Company the 25 element has closed on BS723605, the 26 element is at checkpoint 3 at BS728605, the 57 element is at checkpoint 3 BS735615 and the 34 element is in their Day Logger at BS756625. At 1605hrs Alpha Company the 37 element found 13 fighting positions freshly made at BS755634. Also at BS751631 we found some propaganda material. We will send it in on back haul 26 July 1970. At 1825hrs Alpha Company 57 element stepped on a pressure type booby trap approximately 1 pound of Petna which explosive mostly to the side, the results one US slightly wounds to the legs, no Dust Off required. Also found 2 bunkers, Line # W6781 at grid BS727625. Alpha Company one booby trap on a trail with 2 campsites, which were nearby, also founds 13 fighting positions freshly made. Alpha Company at 1735hrs closed on Night Defense Position at BS723624 will use Multiple Ambushes tonight. SP4 George W. Wizer was treated and released in the field with frag wounds to both legs.
Bravo Company
July 25, 1970
Bravo Company continued their joint Operations with PF and RF units on their Hamlet Pacification and security of Highway 1. Bravo Company is using multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation today. At 0707hrs Bravo Company the 28 element is moving to BS709629. At 1105hrs Bravo Company the 57 element is in their Day Logger at BS716607. At 1615hrs Bravo Company a Vietnamese child reports to the 24 element that in a Ville close to Alpha Company Area of Operation (BS729624) there are 5 enemies with weapons. At 1905hrs Bravo Company 57 element is sniper fire from a wood line 700 meters away. The element had stopped to check out a booby trap and then received the fire (7 to 8 rounds) the booby trap was an underground type with a pressure device, which the Kit Carson Scout found and destroyed at BS729589.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company moving off of LZ Liz and at 1330hrs and is moving to BS724569. At 1630hrs Charlie Company the 34 element arrived in location and sent out a patrol of PF and RF who say there are enemy in the area of BS746554. At 1730hrs Charlie Company 34 element receiving sniper fire from their location 100 meters to the east and are returning fire now, we returning fire now. We took about 20 rounds from the mangrove at grid BS744555. At 1920hrs Charlie Company the 24 element is moving to BS734574 and the 34 element is moving to BS744555. At 2000hrs Charlie Company the 54 ambush is moving to BS736568, the 24 ambush is moving to BS734574, the 34 ambush is moving to BS744555 and the 58 ambush is moving to BS743565.
Delta Company

At 0745hrs Delta Company the 54 element is in their Day Logger at BS737563, the 34 element is in their Day Logger at BS738570 and the Command Post, 14, and 24 elements are in their Day Logger at BS737574. At 1007hrs Delta Company the 24 element is at BS737574, the 34 element is at BS738570 and the 54 element is at BS737563. At 1132hrs Delta Company reports there are no Vietnamese personnel in the fields west of our Day Logger which is unusual. At 1525hrs Delta Company is closing on LZ Liz to take over the Security Mission. At 1555hrs Delta Company the 34 element heard a series of 2 shots at a time from their east, (it was too far away to see anything), at grid BS733553.
Echo Company
July 25, 1970
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0530hrs 4.2 Platoon reports 5 falcate rounds for the 106mm Artillery were expended. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. At 0543hrs Recon Platoon is leaving through bunker 10 to grid BS752445 with Charlie Company Command Post informed. At 0957hrs Recon Platoon all elements have linked up and sweeping the Ville and should be at LZ Liz in 30 minutes. At 1020hrs Recon Platoon we are moving through the bunker line by bunker 20.
