Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. 1-20 Infantry LZ Liz requested a priority Dust Off for 3 Vietnamese 1 baby, 1 mama, 1 papa with multiple frag wounds to legs. Mother uninjured, will be with baby making 4 passengers completed at 0835hrs. At1619hrs Helix 31is putting Air Strikes at grid BS820410 and BS825400.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion.
Alpha Company
July 25, 1969
At 0730hr Alpha Company is moving out of Night Defense Position at this time. The 63 element had closed on their Day logger and they found 200 meters of ditch about 5’ wide and 10’ deep, running along BS736424 to the River and had over head clover consisting of brush. It appears that it has not been used lately. Our 85 element 250 meters Northeast making a cloverleaf maneuvers, around the Day Logger. At 1035hrs we have a Vietnamese woman she has ID, but questionable, she told interpreter that village chief went to Tien Phong area also the interpreter wants this woman to come in for more questioning at grid BS734426, age 58. At Day Logger BS739469 the 63 element closed at 1345hrs. Alpha Company closed into their Night Defense Position vicinity of BS740434 with 3 Listening Posts and no snakes.
Bravo Company
July 25, 1969
At 0525hrs Bravo Company my element are moving out at this time. At 0610hrs Bravo Company we are sweeping through the designated Ville, rounding up the people. My 13 element received some sniper fire at 0545hrs. We are trying to locate the snipers now and we left the two snakes in position, hoping that something might run into them. At 1050hrs Bravo Company at BS796466 have 4 females VCS with our 83 elements 2 are young (20-25) 2 are middle age (40-45). None of them have ID’s cards and all were members of VC Woman Association. At 1815hrs the 87 element have 1 male VC KIA, he ran into a bunker and my element threw a grenade in it and it blew him up. He was carrying a Chi Com grenade approximately 20 years old, wearing black shorts. At 1835hrs Bravo Company 13 elements is moving out to provide security for my 87 element, which has 6 VCS that were picked up in vicinity of BS795468, they were yelling to the VC, that we killed as he ran into the bunker. Bravo Company moved into Night Defense Position at BS733461, the snake 83 is at BS728465.
Charlie Company

At 1130hrs Charlie Company in Day Logger and is sending out two Recon in Force patrols out today. At 1346hrs at BS742456 found 4,000 pounds of Rice and the PF are going to extract. At 1954hrs Charlie Company is now moving into Night Defense Position at BS733461 with the 83 snake at BS728465.
Delta Company

Delta Company will continue their security mission for LZ Liz.
Echo Company
July 25, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0630hrs 4.2 Platoon reports observed missions 2 with total expend: 76 HE WP 3 rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 0745hrs Recon Platoon is going to move back into the area where we received sniper fire. At 1005hrs Recon report their location at BS801465 conducting a combat patrol, the 13 element at BS801465, the 15 element at BS805375 and 83 will sweep to the northwest to BS795470 and the 65 element to BS801450. At 1210hrs Recon Platoon 14 element is located at grid BS853397, rest of element is at approximate grid BS855385 where they will accept resupply and join up with the 14 element. At 1515hrs Recon at BS853391 will move to 14 element location, which they will make their Day Logger.
