Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Thunder and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1050hrs 1-20 Infantry is Combat Assaults from BS885288 to Ba To Special Forces Camp 1st Lift departed and 0808hrs and last LZ at 1040hrs OPCON to 11th Brigade at this time. At 1100hrs Charlie Company 3-1 Infantry returns from Gia Vuc Special Forces Camp to LZ Bronco last Lift completed at 1058hrs. At 1340hrs 1-20 Infantry Aerial Scouts at BS910260, observed large group of men, snatched 1 and will evac to POW cage at LZ Bronco. At 1440hrs 11th Brigade TOC message to Quang Ngai, The Recon 1-20 Infantry have spotted VC in 3 locations BS525696, BS528687 and BS545654, the Warlord gun ships are working in that area now. At 1408hrs 1-20 Infantry Charlie Company requests 2 scout Dogs and 2 handlers to work with Charlie Company for night of 25 July, pick up will be 1730hrs Southeast pad. At 1805hrs Delta Battery 6-11 Artillery moved from Gia Vuc to Ba To Special Forces Camp at 1801hrs.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 1510hrs Military Police report that Highway 1 is in very bad condition, request no vehicle than necessary travels on the Highway.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company will continue with their Security Mission for LZ Thunder. At 2250hrs Alpha Company reports that at BS832232 they engaged 3 VC evading, with results 1 VC KIA. Alpha found in hootch under floor 1 GI drawers, warm rice and hot tea in what appeared to be a NVA Canteen.
Bravo Company

Charlie Company

CPT Alfred N. Webb JR. assumed Command of Charlie Company. At 0829hrs Charlie Company reports their location at BS817401. At 1200hrs Charlie Company located at BS809409. At 1408hrs 1-20 Infantry Charlie Company request 2 scout Dogs and 2 handlers to work with Charlie Company for night of 25 July, pick up will be 1730hrs Southeast pad. At 1835hrs Charlie Company 30 and Command Post is in their Night defense Position at BS777403, 10 at LZ Bronco, and ambush sites BS776403, BS777414 and BS785398.
Delta Company
July 25, 1968
Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown. At 1825hrs Delta Company (-) is at LZ Charlie Brown with 10 at BS906206, 31 at BS931222 ambush at BS998202, and BS926166. Delta Company reports SGT Gary L. Pierce was sick and at 1830hrs was evac to the 27th Surgical Hospital and attached.
Echo Company

Echo Company is located at LZ Thunder where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Thunder. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Thunder where they continue to provide direct fire support for the Battalion. At 1112hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS537673 and has an OP at BS539670 also at BS536676. At 1200hrs Recon Platoon located at BS538673. At 1320hrs 1-20 Infantry Recon Platoon northern OP at BS537676 observed 7 VC at BS520690 moving northeast to creek at BS525693 then moved northwest to BS525696 still in area, 4 with packs, negative weapons also spotted 13 VC with packs at BS529686, requests gun ships. Observed 3 more at BS544657 and observed 5 more at BS546652. Warlord gun ships sent to Recon location. At 1637hrs 1-20 Infantry all elements closed on Command Post, Night Defense Position at BS537677. At 1704hrs Message to 1-20 Infantry the Aerial Scouts will check in with Oxbow Recon 6 approximately 0730-0800hrs tomorrow to see if they need any help. The Aerial Scouts will be working in area north of Oxbow Area of Operation tomorrow. If you have any need for Air Strikes call them "Warlord Lead" on frequency From Diana up 12.10. At 1930hrs Recon Platoon my Command Post will stay in same location on 26 July 1968 but I will send out ambushes to BS532686 and BS537666. This is the location that same of the VC were sighted today. On 27 July 1968 my patrol base will be BS522676 with ambushes at BS518679, I don’t think the VC know, we are in area yet.
