Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0709hrs S-4 reports Dolphin 671 is on station for re supply. At 0822hrs Primo 6 is on station for Command and Control Helicopter. At 0936hrs Primo 6 broke station at 0930hrs. At 1045hrs Warlord 11 has broken station. At 1100hrs S-5 Medical Platoon is in location for Med Cap Pho Long Village at BS775454. At 1350hrs S-4 Dolphin 767 is on station for resupply. At 1640hrs PF 250 vicinity BS716600, detained 9 Vietnamese children between the ages of 7 and 12. These children were in the process of distributing Pro VC propaganda (NFI). Detainees are being held at the above location pending further investigations. At 1700hrs S-5 Medical Platoon vicinity BS775454, conducted a Med Cap at Pho Long Village at BS775454. Security was provided by an element of Alpha Company and PF Platoon. Treated 70 Vietnamese civilians for various minor ailments, also distributed 25 pounds of candy to the children as TET gifts. Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission on LZ Liz along with Road Security vicinity BS760435 to BS776435.
Bravo Company
January 25, 1971
Bravo Company is using multiple patrols in their Area of Operation. At 1043hrs Bravo Company 3rd Platoon vicinity BS683584 detained 1 female 20, negative ID, she evaded from hootch, was captured while checking out the hootch. US found 64 M-1 rounds, 3smoke grenades firing devices, 1 US bayonet, 26 M-60 casings, 1 camouflaged rucksack, 1 poncho, 2 hammocks, and 1 pair of black pajamas, will be extracted to LZ Liz. At 1148hrs Bravo Company 1st Platoon on patrol vicinity BS696274 found 400 pounds of polished rice in good condition. Rice concealed in a bunker, and the ride will be extracted to Fire Support Base Bronco. At 1206hrs Bravo Company Command Post patrol vicinity BS683586 discovered 2 tunnels 1 NVA canteen, 2 plastic canteens, 1 pair black pajamas, 1 flashlight, 3 used batteries, and 12 bottles which they believe contain morphine will back hauled to Bronco. At 1530hrs Bravo Company 1st Platoon vicinity BS688577, searching their Patrol Base found the following items hidden in hootches: 8 rucksacks containing ponchos, mosquito nets, hammock, tobacco, and medical supplies (pills, bandages. And hypodermic needles), all items will be sent to Liz. At 1936hrs Bravo Company Command Post with 2nd and 4th Platoons is at BS676583, 2nd Platoon BS673582, BS678583 and 1st Platoon at BS684577, BS686576, BS683576 and 2nd Platoon at BS683580 and BS682581. At 2010hrs Bravo Company 3rd Platoon vicinity BS682578 had a Mechanical detonate and when Mechanical went off saw movement and engaged with small arms fire with negative finding, will check again at 1st Light.
Charlie Company

At 0840hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon at vicinity BS653560 detained 1 male, 60, dress was all white, had no ID, he will be extracted to Mo Duc. Charlie Company again used multiple patrolling in the Area of Operation. At 1600hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon patrol has closed on BS653562. At 1935hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon patrol is moving out for BS689533. At 2000rhs Charlie Company 1st Platoon ambush is in location vicinity BS689533.
Delta Company
January 25, 1971
Delta Company continued in saturation patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0656hrs Delta Company Command Post and 3rd Platoon in their Patrol Base at BS724450 with 2nd Platoon in their Patrol Base at BS714443. At 1050hrs Delta Company 3rd Platoon patrol is moving out for BS725453 and 2nd Platoon patrol has closed on BS714443. At 1205hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon vicinity BS724439, while checking the area of last night sighting found blood trails and drag marks leading to the east. Followed the drag marks found the following; 3 Hoa Chi Minh sandals, 4 packs, 2 homemade, 2 us issue and 1 waterproof bag. At 1400hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon on patrol observed 1 male dressed in green wearing a pack, walking out of the mangroves and the patrol then followed him to a hootch. The enemy spotted them and evaded to the mangroves engaged him with small arms fire at a distance of 100 meters with results I VC KIA. They captured 3 M-26 grenades, misc. documents and 1 first aid pack. Return to hooch found 1 female 25 years old, hiding in a false walls. The female had some medical supplies she states she was a VC nurse. The bunker was destroyed and she was evac to LZ Liz. At 1620hrs Delta Company at OP Frag patrol is moving to BS755578. At 1915hrs Delta Company reports their locations Command Post and 3rd Platoon BS726447, 2nd Platoon BS716435, BS716441 and 3rd Platoon BS726454 with 1st Platoon ambush BS753565.
Echo Company
January 25, 1971
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 0658hrs Recon Platoon 1st squad ambush has closed from BS715443 and is en route to LZ Liz.
