Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0108hrs Radar sighted 6 to 7 stationary personnel at grid BS750447, negative clearance was given due to the close proximity of Charlie Company. At 0330hrs Radar sighted 5 to 7 stationary personnel at grid BS731432 negative clearance was given due to the close proximity of Alpha Company. At 0540hrs Radar sighted 4 to 6 stationary personnel at grid BS737451, negative situation on the clearance. At 1202hrs 1-20 Infantry the Assistant Division Commander arrived at LZ Liz, was briefed by the Battalion Commander and left at 1310hrs. At 1425hrs 1-20 Infantry the Combat Assault will be at 1600hrs instead of 1500hrs. At 1922hrs Radar sighted 8 to 10 personnel moving east at grid BS73904560, negative clearance due to the close proximity of friendly. At 1945hrs Radar sighted 8 to 10 stationary personnel at grid BS73544542, negative clearance due to the close proximity of friendly. At 1959hrs Radar sighted 8 to 10 personnel moving south at grid BS73104544, negative clearance, was given due to the close proximity of friendly. At 2015hrs Radar sighted 15 to 20 personnel moving west at grid BS762499, we engaged with 8 firecracker rounds of 155 artillery. At 2155hrs IOS sighted 1 light, stationary, at grid BS776417 and we expended 10 HE of Artillery 105 at the target. At 2345hrs Radar sighted 5 to 6 personnel, stationary, at grid BS744436, negative clearance due to the location of Alpha Company and Recon.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0640hrs 137th Engineers the responsibility for feeding the paving security will be the 1-20 Infantry. The amount of rations we draw allow us to feed only our own people and the OPCON security, If there are any questions contact our NCS information given to Alpha and the S-3.
Alpha Company

At 0830hrs Alpha Company the 22, 23, 24, 32, 33, and 34 elements have closed on BS744438. The 12 element is moving out to BS744457. At 0945hrs the 12 element is at their objective at grid BS744457 and we are checking out the area. At 1014hrs Alpha Company the 12 element checked out grid BS744457 with negative results. At 1048hrs Alpha Company the 12 element has closed on BS744438. At 1855hrs Alpha Company we requested Urgent Dust Off for 1 VC with gunshot wounds of the wrist and legs from BS738463. The 22 element was moving to their ambush location when they spotted and took under fire on VC/NVA resulting in one VC WIA. He was wearing a blue Uniform Completed at 1904hrs. At 1922hrs Alpha Company the 32 snake is at BS732455, the 33 snake is at BS733453, the 23 snake is at BS732462 and the 54 snake is at BS739466 and the 34 snake is at BS730449. At 1940hrs Alpha Company the 22 element is at BS734466. At 2055hs Alpha Company 23 element spotted 4 personnel to their front at grid 7BS32462, they were coming toward the 23 element snake location about 250 meters away we engaged with small arms and checked out the area with negative results we are now engaging with artillery.
Bravo Company

At 0442hrs Bravo Company the 75 element has closed on BS787424 and at 0531hrs the 31 closing on BS771461 and 76 closing on BS789417. At 0628hrs Bravo Company the 27 has closed on BS783433. At 0950hrs Bravo Company the 76 element moved out to provide security for the Engineer on Highway 1. At 1510hrs Bravo Company the 22 element is moving to BS775417. At 1545hrs Bravo Company we request a Routine Dust Off for 1 Vietnamese child who was hit by a water buffalo, he has abdominal wounds, completed at 1558hrs. At 1715hrs Bravo Company conducts a Combat Assault of the 72 and 76 elements had a PZ of BS789417 at 1716hrs and a LZ of BS775419 at 1720hrs and 2nd PZ at BS775415 at 1725hrs. At 1825hrs Bravo Company the 26 element has moved out to BS786455 and BS771456 on their patrol. At 1825hrs Bravo Company the 72 element is closing at BS789417 and the 22 element on BS783433. At 1935hrs Bravo Company the 35 element is moving to their snake and at grid BS775455 they received 35 to 40 rounds of automatic weapons fire, negative casualties. At Bravo Company the 35 elements is moving to their snake at grid BS775455 they received 35 to 40 rounds of automatic weapons fire, negative casualties. At 2050hrs Bravo Company Bunker 6 and 7 at grid BS783433 reports 6 to 8 AK47 rounds coming from 200 meters north in a tree line. We are calling in illumination and checking out the area with a starlight scope, negative casualties.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company is on LZ Liz and taken over the Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0922hrs Charlie Company all snakes have closed on LZ Liz. At 1840hrs Charlie Company the 74 snake is moving to BS764415. At 1915hrs Charlie Company the 36 element is moving to BS768437.
Delta Company

At 0655hrs Delta Company the 22 snake has linked up the 23 and 24 elements and the Delta Company 32, and 33 and 34 snakes have also linked up. At 0705hrs Delta Company the 74, 73 and 72 elements have closed on the 52 and 12 element location at BS759398. At 0837hrs Delta Company 34 element closed on LZ Liz and at 0913hrs Delta Company 32 element Day logger a grid BS748403 and the 22 BS736407 and the 72, 52, and 12 elements at BS755398. At 0937hrs Delta Company we request an Urgent Dust Off for 1 VC with gun shot wound to his right leg, the VC was found by the 22 element at BS732405. The VC received these wounds from the ambush sprung last night by the 22 element at 1755hrs. The 22 also found one AK-47 and magazine with a VC and one US pistol belt, first aid pack, 2 grenades, 1 M-37 and one Chi Com, Dust Off completed at 1005hrs vicinity BS732405. At 1017hrs Delta Company the 22 found one VC KIA at grid BS732405, he was in the same area as the WIA was found and was carrying a M-1 carbine 3 Magazines, 1 hand frag, one poncho and a NVA pistol’s belt. At 1810hrs Delta Company we are moving to the Night Defense Position at 755400 and closed at 1905hrs. At 2005hrs Delta Company reports all their multiply snakes location (12) have all closed on their location.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0620hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Supporting Fires 9, Observed Missions 2, Unobserved Mission and Defenses Target 4 for a total expended of 17 HE, 3 WP and 4 Illumination rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. At 0654hrs Recon we are moving back to LZ Liz. At 0710hrs Recon as the Little John was moving to link up with us at grid BS768415 and they spotted 2 VC/NVA in gray uniforms we opened up with small arms. We checked out the area and found ammo can, with a M26 grenade and a pair of blue pajamas, we will bring the ammo can to LZ Liz and closed on LZ Liz at 0732hrs. At 1930hrs Recon we are in our Night Defense Position at BS735433, the Little John element is at BS735435 and the Friar Tuck element is at BS733432.
