Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0420hrs 1-20 Infantry Radar at 1920hrs sighted 8 to 10 stationary moving south at grid BS738459 and no round of 4.2 Mortar fired and at 2010hrs 10 to 15 personnel were moving north at grid BS748463 and 7 HE of 4.2 Mortar rounds were fired. At 2200hrs reports 8 to 10 stationary personnel were sighted at grid BS731445 and engaged with 16 HE of Artillery 155mm. At 0100hrs 8 to 10 stationary personnel were sighted at BS785464 and engaged with 18 HE of Artillery 105mm and at 0120hrs PPS-5 sighted 3 to 4 personnel moving west at BS742447 and engaged with 4.2 Mortar. At 0655hrs 11 Brigade to 1-20 Infantry request for a Combat Assault for the night of the 25 February has not been approved due to mechanical trouble with the helicopters, the helicopters will be down as much as possible for repairs. At 0655hrs 1-20 Infantry to Alpha Company have your patrols move out on operations at 1100hrs. The 01 element is moving out to BS785410, the 21 element is moving to BS765400 and the 61 element is moving to BS775395. At 0815hrss 1-20 Infantry TOC we have an Area of Operation extension for the 4 ARVN Regiment for the period of DATE/TIME/GRID 260600 to 300600 March 1970 from BS465365, to BS783381, to BS804367, to BS812368 and to BS790325. The purpose is combat operations. LTC Fischer will approve it from 270600 to 300600March 1970. At 0900hrs 1-20 Infantry to Alpha Company an additional area to be searched by 1200hrs on 25 February 1970 is from BS788400, to BS795400, to BS795390 and to BS780390, inform us of the element which is to do the searching. Alpha Company Night Defense is set up tonight in box BS7638, BS7738, BS7637 and BS7731. At 1930hrs move your platoons in platoon wedges along three different routes so as to cover west to the Night Defense Position box, south of the Night Defense Position box and north of the same box. Tomorrow search the following three boxes BS765395, BS770395, BS760380 and BS770380, BS770390, BS790390 BS770380, BS790380, and BS770380, BS790380, BS770370 and BS790370. In box 1 the platoon wedge will run from the southwest corner of the box to the northwest corner, in box 2 starting in the northeast corner and in box 3 starting in the northeast corner, also ambush tonight in the vicinity of BS763394, BS790387 and BS791373. Give us check points and plans and report arrival of these. At 1108hrs 1-20 Infantry the Battalion Commander has left LZ Liz on Visual Recon and returned at 1205hrs. At 1125hrs the Nation Police will be picked up at MACV at 1125hrs and inserted into Alpha Company at 1130hrs. At 1234hrs Warlord Lead is on Station. At 1301hrs Warlord is breaking station with negative results. At 1705hrs 1-20 Infantry all bunkers are in satisfactory condition and all plum bobs inspected by the same team. At 1705hrs 1-20 Infantry to Recon Platoon change your snakes to the following grids 22 to BS847405, 23 to BS836402, 08 to BS831406 and the 21 element to BS839408, send your exact location when in position and move after dark.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. PFC John Garnett was attached to the 91st Evac Hospital.
Alpha Company

At 0747hrs Alpha Company at grid BS777413 one of our elements found 2 large circles, about 5’ in diameter and inside the circle was a large X, it might imply there are booby traps in the area. At 0905hrs Alpha Company the 01 element on their sweep picked up one female VC, Alpha Company 01 element on their Sweep picked up one female VC, 25-30 years of age, wearing black pajamas with green faded sweater. She had several documents in her possession and on an undermined nature. She was in the same general area as the wooden ammo box of gauze and articles of clothing. We found one spider hole type tunnel concealed in a hedgerow, a Bar magazine with ammo and a VC ID paper grid BS780412, the tunnel and ammo were blown in place. At 1552hrs Alpha Company found and destroyed a dud 105 round at BS776398. At 1920hrs Alpha Company is in their Night Defense Position at BS764377 with all snakes in position.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company used multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation today and at 1641hrs found a booby trap, trip wire type booby trap, Chi Com grenade tied to a tree at BS774430 and blown in place.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued the Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0803hrs Charlie Company the 76 element has closed on LZ Liz. At 1040hrs Charlie Company the 25 element has closed on LZ Liz with negative finding.
Delta Company

Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0755hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Supporting Fire 1, Observed Mission 4, and Unobserved Mission 1for a total of 12 HE and 20 Illumination rounds were expended. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. At 0925hrs Recon Platoon we are moving out at this time and at 0945hrs checked out BS8341 and have 3 ambushes in the general area. At 1045hrs Recon Platoon we have crossed the river and are sweeping to BS812407. At 1237hrs Recon Platoon reports their snake locations the 21 snake will be at BS832418, the 22 snake will be at BS838417 and the 08 snake will be at BS835414. At 1319hrs Recon Platoon our present location is at BS832422 and at 1358hrs the 22 element will be moving out on its patrol to BS820418. At 1705hrs 1-20 Infantry to Recon Platoon change your snakes to the following grids 22 to BS847405, 23 to BS836402, 08 to BS831406 and the 21 element to BS839408, send your exact location when in position and move after dark. At 1740hrs Recon Platoon we checked out the graves and bunkers at BS836424 with negative results. At 2217hrs Recon Platoon our present location is at BS831436 and now moving to their BS831406. Recon missed read the shackle sent to them that is why they are in the wrong location. SP4 Robert D. Bonner was attached to the 91st Evac Hospital (11B20).
