Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1230hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC at BS753435 reports 100 Vietnamese at gate LZ Liz 1 personal sent to investigate and 1 VCS, passing out propaganda leaflets, CI no being interrogated. At 1300hrs Bravo and Charlie Companies will change positions starting at 1500hrs-1530hrs. Message from Division CPT Miller approximately at 1330hrs at BS717596 approximately 20 VC come to Charlie Company 39 Engineer location armed with AK47, M-79 and Carbines believed more are moving in woods. They want to talk at 1500hrs same location this information has come from the 39 Engineer S-3. Message to Division TOC reference met with VCS 1-20 Infantry Battalion Commander, District Chief and US administration loudspeaker team will fly to meeting place. Purpose to have them turn to Chieu Hoi, 2 Gun Ship stand by 1430hrs and 6 slicks stand by 1500hrs and 4 APC at LZ Dragon stand by and Company Minus in Dragon stand by. At 1801hrs 11 Brigade reports all 11 Infantry Brigade units on full Combat Stations.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0715hrs Alpha Company 19 Engineer at BS771461 sweep team found culvert destroyed also found booby trapped 155mm round Artillery with power around it blew it in place. At 0730hrs Bravo Company at BS625847, mine sweep team found many leaflets on ground, removed leaflets and continued our Mine Sweep. At 0800hrs Charlie Company 39 Engineer at BS718593 found 2 Xmas Trees propaganda leaflets on trees, saying go home Blew archway, removed trees, swept area and continued the Mine Swept. At 0940hrs Alpha Company 19 Engineer found Arc way, 20’ high decorated with flowers and across written in English "Welcome Christmas SVNNLF and GI Lay down your weapon and a flag with White dove on it. At 1230hrs LZ Liz reported that approximately 100 mostly children came to the gate. One female was passing out leaflets. She was detained by personnel at LZ Liz. She stated that she was working for VC. The Brigade XO sent to the scene of the incident female came from Saigon. At 1250hrs Bravo Company 4-3 Infantry ¼ ton vehicle ambushed by automatic weapons and M-79 fire, Dust Off completed at 1230hrs 2 US WHA, 1 US KHA, 1 gunshot wound to head and 2 frag wounds in good condition. At 2330hrs LZ Bronco Defense 1 trip flare was set off in front of bunker 53, a guard in bunker 56 attempted to fire his weapon, it exploded causing him to be wounded and evac to 6 Support. Bronco assumed gray alert status at 2330hrs based on arouses report and returned to white alert status at 2330hrs cause of casualty is being investigated (see December 26, 1968).. At 2315hrs F sector received small arms fire in front of Bunker 56 movement also spotted in front of Bunker 53 and had movement in front of Bunker 1 F sector reported 1 WHA (Clark). Bravo Company 4-3 Infantry ¼ ton vehicle ambushed reports PFC ROBERT AMSPACHER IS LISTED AS KHA with SP4 Thomas Geary and SP4 Gordon Reynolds WHA evac to 312 Medical.
Alpha Company

At 1030hrs Alpha Company at BS616589 spotted 5 VC with weapons moving in northwestern direction and send element to check it out. At 1830hrs Alpha Company 51 is at LZ Dragon, Command Post and 21 is at BS614583 and the 61 element is at BS614581 also Alpha Company 91 is at BS615586. Alpha Company reports SP4 Bobby N. Grantham was sick and attached to the 312th Evac Hospital.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company and Charlie Company will change position starting about 1500hrs and 1530hrs. Bravo Company will go to LZ Bronco to start the Stand Down and Charlie Company to LZ Liz and LZ Dragon for Charlie Company.
Charlie Company

Today Bravo and Charlie Company will change positions starting at 1500hrs to 1530hrs today. Charlie Company will take over the Security Mission for LZ Liz with Charlie Company 61 at LZ Dragon with a Security Mission and Bravo Company will take their Stand Down.
Delta Company

Delta Company will continue to work their Area of Operation and block and observe the area. At 0955hrs Delta Company reports their location at BS624544 and at 1830hrs Delta Company will remain in their block and observe location.
Echo Company
December 25, 1968
Echo Company is located at LZ Liz where Battalion Forward is located and coordinates the Battalion Rear elements and Base Defense element on LZ Liz. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Liz where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry) Battalion. Recon Platoon reports that they are on their Stand Down at LZ Bronco.
