Headquarters and Headquarter Company
September 24, 1968

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Dottie and will continued to work with ARVN units their Area of Operations. At 0900hrs Division TOC request Area of Operation for US Seabees grid BS7984 from 282100hrs to 290530hrs September 1968 and will conduct Seal Mission, Approved by 1-20 Infantry and 11th Brigade. At 2110hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC requested Dust Off for 1 man with 104 temperature, 2210hrs Dust Off completed possible malaria, taken to Chu Lai. At 2400hrs Operation Champaign Grove is terminated. At 2050hrs 1-20 Infantry received 2 incoming rounds believe to be rocket (size unknown) negative casualties or damage, engaged with Artillery 18 105mm HE rounds. At 2100hrs LZ Dottie #5 and Bravo Company 39 Engineer bunker 15 received 15 rounds small arms fire with negative casualties.

Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.

 

Alpha Company
September 24, 1968

Alpha Company located at LZ Dottie and getting refitted from OPERATION CHAMPAGNE GROVE.

 

Bravo Company
September 24, 1968

Bravo Company has the Security Mission for LZ Buff with the 20 element located at BS550820 on a Search and Clear operation.

 

Charlie Company
September 24, 1968

At 1800hrs Charlie Company is still located at LZ Dottie refitting and Security Mission for LZ Dottie.

 

Delta Company
September 24, 1968

1-20 Infantry TOC Units Locations: Alpha, Charlie, Delta Companies & Recon all on LZ Dottie and Bravo Company on LZ Buff 1-20 has requested Dust Off for 1 man with 104 temp, at 2210 Dust Off completed, possible Malaria was taken to Chu Lai. SP4 Paul A. Smith reported sick at 2300hrs and PFC Robert F. Salinas at 1743hrs where evac at to 2nd Surgical Hospital. At 1300hrs PFC William C. Kane was sick and at 1300hrs was evac and attached to 2nd Surgical Hospital.

 

Echo Company
September 24, 1968

Echo Company is located at LZ Dottie where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Dottie. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Dottie where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion). Recon Platoon reports their location at LZ Dottie with their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry.
