Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0005hrs Alpha Company Bunker Line was inspected by SFC Gibson, # 15, 16 and 17 all satisfactory. At 0230hrs LZ Liz Bunkers reports 6, 7, 9, 13 and 14 inspected by LT Neuendorf all satisfactory. At 0330hrs Alpha Company LT Craft inspected bunkers 1, 15, 16, and 17 all satisfactory. At 0815hrs 1-20 Infantry Helix 34 is on station at this time. At 0820hrs LZ Liz Access Road no clear. At 1001hrs Charlie Battery 1-82 Artillery requests Urgent Dust Off for 1 US, while jacking up a 155 for shooting high angle 1 of the 2 jacks gave way, the howitzer fell forward crushing 1 man foot, Bird # 85 completed at 1013hrs. At 1002hrs Combat Assault Alpha and Delta Company: AMC on station at this time. 1. PZ 1020hrs and 4th and last LZ at 1048hrs AMC broke station at 1050hrs. At 1105hrs Med Cap at Nui Ong do, all elements in location and operation is going smoothly. At 1340hrs 1-20 Infantry Dolphin 23 is on station for resupply. At 1925hrs PF 143 MO Duc requested 1 Urgent Dust Off for 1 PF litter who hit mine, negative Vietnamese Air Force initials GMJ, PF was on patrol in vicinity of District headquarters, Bird #57 completed at 1948hrs. At 2032hrs 1-20 Infantry Mechanical Ambushes out: Alpha 8, Bravo 6, Charlie 4, and Recon 1 for a total 19. At 2155hrs Saber 40 is on station in Box 63 at 2240hrs had a weapon jam and went to LZ Bronco for repairs. At 2300hrs LZ Liz Bunker Line Satisfactory all bunker on 50%, all aware of primary and alternate challenge and pass word, bunkers 9, 13, 14, and 15 inspected by LT Adams. At 2315hrs Delta Company Bunker Line at 2200hrs LT Tobin checked # 1, 2, 3 and 5 all found satisfactory, at 2300hrs LT Kalish inspected # 6, 7, 8, and 9 all satisfactory. Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. Bunker line check at 005hrs SFC Gibson all satisfactory, then at 0230hrs Bunker line check by LT Neuendorf all satisfactory. At 0330hrs LZ Liz Bunker Line is inspection by LT Craft, Bunker 1, 15, 16 and 17 all satisfactory. At 1030hrs Alpha and Delta Company conducts a Combat Assault with Delta Company to LZ Liz and Alpha Company 1st PZ at 1020hrs and last LZ at 1048hrs. At 1130hrs Alpha Company Command Post spotted 1 new bunker and 1 person in area of bunker engaged with 81mm fire and had 1 direct hit, will engage further. At 1230hrs Alpha Company Command Post bought 1 60mm mortar round complete with pin and charges from Vietnamese child vicinity BS716513. At 1327hrs 1st Platoon in Patrol Base at BS698515 bought 1 fuse bomb (color yellow) 3" in diameter from 2 coke kids 7-9, paid them 2 C Ration meals, vicinity BS716513. At 2027hrs Alpha Company all elements in Night Defense Position Command Post, 2nd and 4th Platoons at BS720513, 1st Platoon at BS692512 and 3rd Platoon at BS725488.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued to use Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0345hrs Bravo Company 1st and 4th Platoon move to blocking position and by 0410hrs was in their position at BS740440. At 1351hrs Bravo Company 2nd Platoon vicinity BS727439 bought 1 magazine M-16 type full of ammo in good condition from coke kid age 8 paid 1 C Ration Meal. At 1916hrs Bravo Company Command Post with 3rd Platoon is moving to Night Defense Position vicinity BS727429, at 2005hrs Bravo Company 1st and 4th Platoon in Night Defense position vicinity BS726453 and at 2025hrs Bravo Company 2nd Platoon in their Night Defense Position at BS725447 with 6 mechanical Ambush out. At 2241hrs Bravo Company had movement on the east side of perimeter 25 to 50 meters away, fired illumination for Command Post element at BS727429.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued to use Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0735hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon patrol moving to BS634562, 1st Platoon ambush closed to BS656544. At 0823hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon spotted 2 suspected VC working grid BS653518, called in Fire Mission. At 2004hrs Charlie Company Night Defense Position 1st Platoon BS655553, 2nd Platoon and Command Post at BS6405565 with 4 Mechanical Ambush out.
Delta Company

At 0652hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon in PZ at BS698515. Delta Company conduct Combat Assault 1st PZ 1020hrs and last LZ 1048hrs Delta Company on LZ Liz and taken over the Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 2315hrs Delta Company Bunker Line at 2200hrs LT Tobin checked # 1, 2, 3 and 5 all satisfactory and at 2300hrs LT Kalish inspected # 6, 7, 8, and 9 all satisfactory. Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 1736hrs Recon is presently in their Patrol Base at BS684515.
