Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1635hrs TMF Radar sighted 2 personnel moving from the northwest of the southeast on string 66 at BS742372. The target was engaged with 8 VT of Artillery 105. At 0727hrs E Troop is moving at this time and at 0815hrs E Troop we are in location to block at BS705434 to BS706424. At 1020hrs E Troop in checking the area of the LRRP extraction we found only 8 to 10 rounds of expended M-16 rounds.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. 1SGT Ronald Hammer was attached to 91st Evac Hospital.
Alpha Company
March 24, 1970
Alpha Company has a Combat Assault first thing this morning 1st PZ is at 0720hrs and the 4th LZ is at 0811hrs. At 0850hrs we have closed on our Day Logger at BS731328. At 1130hrs A 32 spotted 3 VC/NVA at BS729340 two wearing black pajamas and one wore no shirt. We are calling in Artillery and 32 will check out the area, they were heading east at 1300 meters. At 1205hrs Alpha Company we received 5-10 sniper rounds at out Night Defense Position at BS731328. We engaged the area of BS721321 with 81mm and checked out the area with negative finding. At 1302hrs Alpha Company we found a weather balloon, radio at BS731336 which was blown. At 1440hrs Alpha Company 62 grid BS731321 found destroyed base camp. They found freshly cut bamboo and also half built hootch. At 1645hrs Alpha Company all elements closed on BS731328 and by 1844hrs we have moved into our Night Defense Position at BS734382. At 2013hrs Alpha Company at grid BS731328 2 old bunkers, 1 51 caliber position and 10 or 12 campfires sites were found. Along with 2 or 3 macheral cans, were found and holes running east to west.
Bravo Company

At 1608hrs Bravo Company 65 element has one VC in a tunnel who was killed by a RF he has no ID, 30 years old and wearing green shorts, the 14 element spotted on VC/NVA at BS8002430 and checked out area with negative results. At 2303hrs Bravo Company the 62 element got 3 detainee one male and 2 female at BS777454. The male 25 years old female 23-19 and will send to MACV.
Charlie Company
March 24, 1970
Charlie Company has the Security Mission for LZ Liz. Charlie Company with PRU spotted 4 to 5 VC/NVA evading west from a Ville into a tree line approximately 900 to 100 meters away, one VC was dressed in a blue uniform, enemy were engaged with negative results at grid BS742442. At 1400hrs the Charlie Company 15 element requests a priority Dust Off of 1 Vietnamese male with gunshot wound in the chest grid BS758434, completed at 1410hrs.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued to use multiple patrolling and some day ambush in their Area of Operation. At 0657hrs Delta Company all snakes have closed on BS768374. At 1245hrs Delta Company reports that their Day Logger for 25 March 70 will be at BS756377. At 1834hrs Delta Company moved to our Night Defense Position at BS758332 with multiples snake out.
Echo Company
March 24, 1970
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0612hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Scheduled Fires 3, Observed Mission for a total expended of 31 Illumination. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 0945hrs E Troop 3rd Platoon is at BS715432 and 1st Platoon is at BS709428 to BS706433 and Recon Platoon is at BS705423. At 1655hrs E Troop and Recon Platoon report their present location at BS726447 and at 1851hrs report their Night Defense Position BS718343. At 2030hrs Recon Platoon report 34 is at BS716437, 32 at BS708428 and the 33 element is at 718428.
