Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0020hrs RF 1-103 at 232200hrs ambush mad contact vicinity BS823339 with unknown size VC unit, engaged with small arms fire and 15 rounds Artillery 105mm, VC returned small arms fire, results 1 RF KIA, 1 M-16 CIA and 2 VC KIA, not US confirmed at this time. At 0240hrs LZ Liz Alpha Company Bunkers 7, 8, 9 were checked by LT Waugh and all satisfactory. At 0723hrs 1-20 Infantry Primo 5 is on station at this time. At 0755hrs 1-20 Infantry LZ Liz Access Road has began sweep at this time but not pressure tested. At 0815hrs 1-20 Infantry Warlord 25 is on station for APD 275. At 1830hrs LATE SPOT 4 ARVN at 0730hrs 4-4 ARVN vicinity BS258470 made contact and KIA 2 NVA, CIA 1 AK44 and 5 hand frag. At 0750hrs 3-4 ARVN vicinity BS287443 while on search and clear mission discovered 5 hootches and destroyed them. CIA 300 Kilo’s of rice, 100 Kilo’s corn. At 0800hrs 4 Recon vicinity BS277528 while on Search and Clear mission CIA 1 Singer sewing machine and 1 type writer, 1 hootch was destroyed. At 1330hrs 4 Recon vicinity BS288518 conducting a Search and Clear Operations has encountered 2 NVA, results 2 NVA KIA with packs. At 1835hrs LATE SPOT PF 145 at 232100hrs vicinity BS750515 had contact with unknown size enemy force results 2 VC KIA and 1 carbine CIA. At 2015hrs Warlord Blue is on station in Box 64 Americal Rules of engagement, fire for fire, packs and weapons and evading. At 2125hrs out of 64, break for fuel and at 2150hrs into Box 61 and breaks station with negative results at 2240hrs. At 2315hrs Alpha Company LZ Liz LT Sprayberry checked bunkers 1, 2, 3 and 17 with all satisfactory. At 2130hrs Nui Ong Do vicinity BS776535 requests 1 Urgent Dust Off for 2 Vietnamese civilians injured during a 60mm mortar attack. Dust Off took unknown amount of rounds from the South; Dust Off 88, completed Dust Off at 2240hrs to Chu Lai. Legend: 1st Platoon 17, 2nd Platoon 44, 3rd Platoon 56, 4th Platoon 23, CO-64.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz and the 1-20 Infantry. At 2240hrs Bunker Line on LZ Liz is inspected by LT Waugh everything OK and at 0236hrs the bunker line is inspected by LT Sprayberry everything OK.
Bravo Company
June 24, 1971
Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco and the Brigade is moving North to LZ Dottie and the 4 Battalion of 21 Infantry returning home.
Charlie Company
June 24, 1971
Charlie Company will continue their Security Mission for LZ Bronco and working with the finishing up of the move north and he ARVN which will be taking over the Base.
Delta Company
June 24, 1971
At 0728hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon moving to Command Post location at this time vicinity BS727419. At 1105hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon and Command Post in Patrol Base at BS733453. At 1517hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon and Command Post intelligence from Coke Kids at BS748438 to 515 road 15 to 25 VC staying in Ville, they have 1 US made machine gun, 1 B40 rocket and an arms, AK47 and M16 and other small arms. They have a small amount of ammo, they are to harass and sniper at Vietnamese forces, will not bother US forces due to small amount of ammo. Either yesterday or today they did sniper at a CH 47, they do stay in the Ville. At 1650hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon closed BS733453. At 1935hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon closed BS733453. At 2005hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon in Night Defense Position at BS722449 and Delta Company Command Post at BS727447. SP4 Harold E. Shaffer reported sick to B Company 23rd Medical Battalion at 0900hrs.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 0647hrs Recon Platoon is moving out to LZ Liz at this time and closed on LZ Liz at 0715hrs. At 2009hrs Recon is moving their Night Defense Position at BS764414 and closed at 2025hrs.
