Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continue their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0835hrs 1-20 Infantry reports No Vehicles under 2 ½ ton today on the Highway today. At 1610hrs Bunker Report: Charlie Company, Artillery, HHC, and Rear all report bunkers in good shape and all with plumb bob. At 1919hrs Brigade instructions for the Christmas and New Year Cease Fire Period: The following implementing instructions are given to commanders in pertain to PSYCOPS and Combat Assault activities. 1. Combat Assaults projects will continue as usual, 2. There will be no naval, ground or air psychological operations of any kind during the truce period. 3. No public comment will be made in conjunction with psychological operations concerning the cease fire or truce periods.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion.
Alpha Company

Bravo Company
December 24, 1969
At 0710hrs Bravo Company 24 while sweeping 4 VC evaded to the north, pursuing them at this time, 24 element crossing blue at this time, the 24 element hit one VC and knocked him down, will check out area. At 0735hrs Bravo Company my 14 element moving from the North Bridge to check out the snipe fire that the mine sweep team was receiving. At 0713hrs the 13 element has closed on Twin Ville. At 0820hrs Bravo Company the 14 element was checking out the area where we received one M-79 round (BS772455). The 24 element is at BS782415. At 0900hrs we had one US hit by a piece of shrapnel in his left tight the medic will treat him and we are putting him in for a Purple Heart (Bass). At 1525hrs Bravo Company Urgent Dust Off, Requested 2 Vietnamese civilians (one male and one female) who were hit in legs and arms by frag grid where the civilians received the injuries from the mine was BSBS796412, pick up site BSBS789417 completed at 1430hrs. At 1837hrs Bravo Company paving Report the north side completed to BS789419 and the South side completed to BS789417. At 1950hrs Bravo Company reports the following the 86 element is located at grid BS792424 with the 85 element is located at grid BS788424 and I believe the WHA was (PFC Jimmie L. Bass).
Charlie Company

Charlie Company will continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0855hrs Charlie Company reports all snakes have closed on LZ Liz.
Delta Company
December 24, 1969
At 0630hrs Delta Company 84 LP has closed on BS766382 and the 14 element has closed on 12 located at BS773385 and 24 has closed on the 22 element at BS775402. At 0812hrs Delta Company reports 82, 72, and the 99 element is moving out. The 12 element joined up with the main Command Post from their night position and are en route to LZ Liz. At 1530hrs Delta Company reports are in Night Defense Position BS756435 with the 84 snake is moving to BS764438, the 24 snake is moving to BS769437 and the 13 snake is moving to BS773438.
Echo Company
December 24, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0553hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Supporting Missions 10, Observed Missions 0 with total expend 20 HE rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz and the (1-20 Infantry Battalion TOC).
