Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Chevy and will continued to work with ARVN units and Special Forces in their Area of Operations. The 1-20 Infantry begins their part in Operation CHAMPAIGN GROVE and OPCON to Task Force GALLOWAY. At Valley Force TOC reports LZ Chevy is no on Red Alert because surrounding areas are being hit, OP 7 at BS379691 and OP 4 at BS365702. OP 7 and 3 are under fire and OP 4 is surrounded by VC and under fire.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company moved back to HA THANH and along with Recon Platoon where airlifted to LZ Dottie. 1st Battalion 20th Infantry terminated operations in the CHAMPAIGN GROVE Area of Operations and assumed responsibility for the southern DUC PHO AREA OF OPERATIONS at 1445hrs.
Bravo Company

Bravo & Charlie Company where then air lifted from BS395625 to LZ Dottie. 1-20 Infantry terminated operations in the CHAMPAIGN GROVE Area of Operation and assumed responsibility for the southern DUC PHO Area of Operation at 1445hrs.
Charlie Company
September 23, 1968
1-20 Infantry Alpha Company moved back to HA THANH and along with Recon Platoon were airlifted to LZ Dottie. Bravo and Charlie Company were airlifted from BS395625 to LZ Dottie. Delta Company secured Chevy until all Brigade elements had departed, then was airlifted to LZ Dottie. 1-20 Infantry terminated operations in the CHAMPAIGN GROVE Area of Operation and assumed responsibility for the southern DUC PHO Area of Operation at 1445hrs. John J. Michon with infected old frag wound to 27th Surgical Hospital.
Delta Company
September 23, 1968
At 1410hrs Delta Company was airlift to LZ Chevy to take over the Security Mission for the LZ Chevy. At 0800hrs SP4 Ted L. Casey and Chester Wortham were evac and attached to the 27th surgical Hospital (I believe they where WIA on September 19, 1968).
Echo Company
September 23, 1968
Echo Company is located at LZ Chevy where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Chevy. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Chevy where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion). Recon Platoon is still working with Alpha Company and air move to LZ Dottie.
