Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0745hrs Delta 71 and the 26 Engineer we moved out to BS738614 about 15 minutes ago. At 0817hrs 1-20 Infantry we requests an Area of Operation extension in the Date/ Time/Grid 231200 to 272400 June 1970 from BS700429 to BS742370 as a buffer zone for Alpha Company who will operating along the present boundary. At 1540hrs TMF String 66 was activated by 5 personnel that where moving northeast with metal confirmed and with negative clearance. At 1610hrs Charlie Company Engineer a total of 27 hrs were worked clearing 29 acres at BS745603 to BS748604 to BS746607 and BS746608. They found and destroyed 1 175mm round, 1 90mm round, 1 155mm round and 1 105mm round. 4 D7 are operational with 1 deadline with a hydraulic hose and 1 is deadline for maintenance. At 1720hrs S-5 Report the 1-20 Infantry PSYOP operations were targeted against the following areas At BS6952 10 minutes of tape with a VC/NVA Chieu Hoi theme were played, at BS7262 10 minutes of tap were played against C65 at BS7360, 28,000 VIP leaflets were distributed. 1-20 Infantry conducted a joint American and Vietnamese Med Cap at BS782426 immunizations against Cholera were give to 350 people were treated and received the shots.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and will continue their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
June 23, 1970
At 1320hrs Alpha Company we are moving to BS731426, at 1530 we have closed on our Night Defense Position at BS731426. At 1850hrs Alpha Company at BS725431 detained 1 Vietnamese female age 23 years, with false ID evac to LZ Bronco. At 2015hrs Alpha Company reports all snake, are in location 26 at BS713425, 76 at BS719420 and 96 at BS723415.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company Command Post location at BS783433 received 3 round incoming rounds of unknown size but suspected of being 82mm, they hit just outside our perimeter. At 0100hrs we received another incoming round with negative casualties or damage. We did engage with Artillery and 81mm on suspected enemy locations at BS802427 and BS793437.
Charlie Company

At 0230hrs Charlie Company the Command Post heard an explosion to the west at BS744440 where their mechanical ambush called in artillery, 4.2, and 81mm after they were fired in the area. Sent out a patrol to check the area of BS720453, we found a trail marker next to one Mechanical ambush and trip wire cut on another and the third mechanical ambush only one mouse trap was found everything else is missing. At 0634hrs Charlie Company 93 and 95 elements are moving to BS746450 and the 73 element is moving to BS740440. At 0813hrs Charlie Company the 73 element is moving to the 91element location at BS740440. At 1008hrs Charlie Company 22 element is on Access Road. At 1249hrs we have reached LZ Liz Command Post and the 71 element has closed on LZ Liz and taken over the Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 2000hrs Charlie Company the Access Road security is in location.
Delta Company

At 0638hrs Delta Company the 93 elements have closed with the 23 element checking out the area of last night contact found 3 Vietnamese shoes on the bank of the stream we found the found blood trails and any kills would probably have been blown into the stream. At 0810hrs a further report is the 2 VC were engaged at 100 meters, 1 was hit and knocked into the stream. The others started to jump into the stream and we hit him and he was knocked in the stream also. The current was very swift and we checked the stream and had negative findings. They said they were certain the individuals were hit. Delta Company is using multiple patrolling in their Area of Operations today. 11 Brigade reports at 1130hrs RF #159 at BS745657 found 2 VC bodies results of Delta Company contact last night at BS745655. At 0745hrs Delta 71 and the 26 Engineer we moved out to BS738614 about 15 minutes ago. At 0901hrs Delta 71 and 26 Engineer have closed on their work location.
Echo Company
June 23, 1970
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 4.2 Platoon reports Fire Mission 13 for a total expended of 81 HE, 2 WP and 13 Illumination rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. At 0825hrs Recon Platoon at BS739457 evac 2 detainees to LZ Bronco with 7,000 pounds of rice. At 0833hrs Recon the location of all elements and where the pink team will be working is BS743570. At 1530hrs Recon Platoon we found 30 pounds of rice, 4 sleeping positions, 4 new 60mm rounds and some medical supplies in a hedgerow at BS778358. The will be extracted to LZ Liz. Recon Platoon closed on LZ Liz and take over their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry.
