Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0409hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC reports Radar Target at BS769492, BS825432, BS832434, BS782481 and BS793460. Also report Radar Targets - BS768413,- BS809426, BS756464, BS771464, BS771486, BS771598, BS849356, BS765483, BS777433 and BS808425.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 1840hrs Last Light Visual Recon Team at BS918168 received report of jeep involved in ambush or accident at above grid, sent Visual Recon Team and APC to the area to check out accident. Results M151 ¼ ton vehicle was ambushed as it was head south with 2 Koreans dressed in Military Uniforms where both KIA by gunshot wounds, both Korean where KIA. The Bodies were evac with Sharks gun ships covering to Graves Registration on LZ Bronco and the 173 Airborne has troops on the ground to check the area.
Alpha Company
April 23, 1970
Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz and continued to provide security patrols for the access road. By 1415hrs Alpha Company moved using a Recon in Force into their Day Logger where they will set up saturation patrolling in their Area of Operation.
Bravo Company
April 23, 1970
Bravo Company and RF/PF element working on join operations with sweeps and saturation patrolling in their Area of Operation. Bravo Company conducts a PZ 1310hrs at BS798445 to LZ BS789417 completed 1336hrs and was cold.
Charlie Company
April 23, 1970
At 1203hrs Charlie Company is at BS753438 as they are beginning to close on LZ Liz and take over the Security Mission for LZ Liz.
Delta Company
April 23, 1970
At 1000hrs Delta Company is located at BS748400 request EOD team to de fuse 2 firecracker rounds they will be picked up at Primo Pad at 1100hrs. Delta Company continued to use Day Ambush and saturation patrolling in their Area of Operation. SGT John J. Murphy was attached to the 8th Field Hospital (see April 19, 1970).
Echo Company
April 23, 1970
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. At 0825hrs Recon Platoon reports they continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz.
