Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0705hrs Bravo Company conducts a Combat Assault 1st PZ 0705hrs and last LZ at 0735hrs vicinity BS717462. At 2015hrs Intelligence 82 NVA vicinity BS891222 on move to 205 east too west grid line then east to Red Ball 2 elements move to 235 east west gridline then to Red Ball.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 2145hrs LZ Bronco Defense spotted 2 or more people and engaged with 9 rounds of 81mm mortar persons vanished on impact at BS842388. At 2235hrs Bronco Defense again spotted 2-3 VC engaged with 105mm Artillery persons vanished when rounds went off.
Alpha Company
April 23, 1969
Alpha Company is OPCON to the 4-21 Infantry. At 1030hrs Alpha Company is at BS635295 on a Search and Destroy Operation to BS645277. At 1940hrs Alpha Company moved into their Night Defense Position at BS635295.
Bravo Company
April 23, 1969
At 0800hrs Bravo Company conducts a Combat Assault 1st PZ at 0705hrs and last LZ at 0716hrs at BS717462 and Bravo Company set up their Day Logger. At 1450hrs Bravo Company is at BS719464 found cave holds 6, orange juice can and fresh cut trees, 2 or 3 days old. At 1730hrs Bravo Company is at BS717463 and 1 US cut hand with machete (E).
Charlie Company

At 0900hrs Charlie Company 21, 31, and 63 at BS782366 also 15 at BS766366 discover 1 VC in shallow grave killed by small arms fire 2 to weeks old. At 1100hrs Charlie Company at BS766365 found suspected rocket site. 6’ deep surrounded by foxholes and well camouflaged about 2 weeks old. At 1410hrs Charlie Company found a large cave could have been living quarters for enemy. Charlie Company continue their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Delta Company
April 23, 1969
Delta Company continued their Security mission for LZ Liz. At 1900hrs Delta Company reports their location 21, 31, 53 is at BS763441. At 1010hrs Delta Company at BS763412 has 1 WHA by frag right leg and arm and shoulder while blowing which had a secondary explosion. Command and Control Helicopter made Dust Off to Bronco. At 1205hrs Delta Company has closed on LZ Liz. At 1615hrs 174 Aviation reports at BS768420 resupply aircraft for 1-20 Infantry went down with mechanical failure. Gun Ships on station and 1 squad from Delta Company will secure with results 4 US Non Battle wounds with 1 from 1-20 Infantry and 3 from the 174 Aviation. At 1720hrs Delta Company at BS765452 1 Vietnamese VCS CIA WIA from frag of M-79. At 1930hrs both the helicopter and Delta Company security squad was extracted. SP4 Danny Bivins was evac to 312th Evac Hospital.
Echo Company
April 23, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 0810hrs Recon Platoon reports their SRRP location at BS705421. At 1740hrs Recon Platoon spotted 5 VCS at BS705428 and called in 4.2 mortars on them. At 1900hrs Command and Control Helicopter lifted 2 squads Recon from BS627370 to LZ Liz.
