Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Siberia and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0725hrs S-4 reports Flint 552 Tail # 763 is on station. At 1100hrs Hair cut 68 (1-1 Calvary) at BT045401 reports 1 US WIA and 1 PF wounded by booby trap. At 1120hrs Hair cut 68 (1-1 Calvary) at BT045401 reports 1st Platoon of Charlie Company had 1 US WIA and 2 US KIA by booby trap, pressure type both weapons were combat loss. At 1310hrs 1-20 Infantry informed Alpha Company at 0900hrs 23 September they will have a Combat Assault. At 1408hrs 1-1 Calvary and Delta Company at AT984337 a track hit mine with results 5 US WIA and 1 track destroyed. At 1500hrs Medical Cap reported at AT907246 treated 62 people, also stated that locals facilities could handle situation in future. At 1520hrs Brigade informed the (1-20 Infantry) S-3 that the birds asked for day 22 are cancelled. At 2020hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon OPCON to Charlie Troop 1-1 Calvary at BT038392 requested Dust Off (Urgent) for E0875, EDDY, Leonard H., with groin wound, K1724 Kenny, David S head wound results of incoming enemy fire 6 60mm mortar rounds and 1 RPG.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for Chu Lai.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Saturation Patrolling in their Area of Operation and at 1730hrs 2nd Platoon is moving to their Night Defense Position at AT879271 and at 1745hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon is closing on their Night Defense Position at AT875272.

Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ West.
Charlie Company
September 22, 1971
Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Siberia. At 1100hrs Delta troop 1-1 Calvary at BT045401 had 1 US WHA and one PF wounded by booby trap. Also at 1120hrs Charlie Company 1-20 Infantry OPCON Delta Troop at BT045401 Charlie 1st Platoon has 1 US WHA and 2 US KHA by Booby trap pressure type mine, both weapons combat loss. At AT994337 Delta Troop 1-1 Calvary track hit a mine 5 US WHA. At 2030hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon requested a Dust Off, Urgent for SP4 Leonard H. Eddy, SGT David S. Kenny head wound, results of incoming enemy fire, 5 60mm mortar rounds, 1 RPG, Dust Off completed WHA at 2130hrs. Charlie Company reports the following SP4 Harold F. Benich, SGT David S. Kenny and SP4 Leonard H. Eddy where evac to the 91st Evac Hospital with PFC ROBERT FRANK HOJNACKI AND SP4 DAVID LAWRENCE SHEAFFER LISTED AS KHA.
Delta Company

At 1000hrs Delta Company is located at AT863254 and at 1610hrs Delta Company is moving to their Night Defense Position at AT866251 and report that they have closed on the location at 1900hrs with all elements.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Siberia, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 0730hrs Recon is moving to PZ AT865254. At 1930hrs Recon has closed on their Night Defense Position located at 863255.
