Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Colt. The 1-20 Infantry Battalion Forward and Echo Company with Recon providing security move out to LZ O’Connor and their new Area of Operations with Bravo and Delta Companies 2-1 Infantry OPCON to the 1-20 Infantry.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0100hrs LZ Bronco grid 812383 reports 2 explosions with result 1 US WIA (M) unknown type explosion believed to be satchel charges.
Alpha Company
March 22, 1968
Alpha Company remains OPCON to 1-6 Infantry and their Security Mission and highway Security Mission for the 535 highway. The 1-20 Infantry Battalion Headquarter and Recon move out to LZ O’Connor and their new Area of Operations with Bravo and Delta Companies 2-1 Infantry OPCON to the 1-20 Infantry.
Bravo Company
March 22, 1968
Troop C 1-1 Calvary and 1 Platoon Bravo Company 1-20 Infantry with 1 Platoon C-1-1 Calvary & Delta Company 1-20 & 1Platoon Troop A-1-1 Calvary established Night Position vicinity BT220472 & conducted Search and Destroy North & Northwest within extended Area of Operation. Bravo Company 1-20 Infantry received 6 Mortar Rounds at 0105hrs 3 WHA. PFC Steven M. Shewell was evac to NSA Hospital.
Charlie Company

At 1115hrs Charlie Company at BS670885 found 2 Bouncing Betty mines, both booby traps where destroyed in place. At 1205hrs Charlie Company at BS669885 received 1 round sniper fire also tripped 1 booby trap which didn’t go off, booby trap destroyed. At 1515hrs Charlie Company at established their Night Defense Position at BS659888 with ambushes at BS657891 and BS665882.
Delta Company
March 22, 1968
Delta Company continued their OPCON to the 1-1 Cav and their Search & Destroy with 1st Platoon from A Troop 1-1 Cav. At 1035hrs Alpha Troop 1-1 Cav. With Delta Company observed 1 man evading engaged and 1-1 Cav 1 VC KIA. At 1422hrs Alpha Troop 1-1 Cav reports at BT201519 with Delta Company 1 VC evading with results 1-1 Cav 1 VC KIA. At 1422hrs Alpha Troop 1-1 Cav with Delta Company reports observed 1 man evading engaged results Delta Company 1 VC KIA.
Echo Company
March 22, 1968
Alpha Company remains OPCON to 1-6 Infantry and their Security Mission for LZ Colt and highway Security Mission for the 535 highway. Echo Company 4.2 Mortar Platoon and Recon Platoon remains with the 1-20 Infantry Battalion (Forward TOC) and continued their Security Mission for LZ O’Connor.
