Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0715hrs Charlie Company 19 Engineer at BS909232 reports LOH belonging to 11 Brigade received heavy small arms fire and automatic weapons fire. Air Craft took 10 to 15 rounds and air craft made it back to Charlie Brown with negative casualties called artillery on enemy grid with negative assessment. At 1015hrs 1-20 Infantry request a Dust Off for Charlie Battery Urgent 1 US, gunshot wound in foot, accidental shooting, completed at 1025hrs.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion. At 1100hrs Delta Company 19 Engineer at BS903150 the Command Post received 20 rounds of sniper fire. Red Leg people to get clearance to fire, then Artillery fired 31 HE rounds and 6 WP rounds with negative casualties and unknown results.
Alpha Company

At 0710hrs Alpha Company is now moving at this time and by 0810hrs moving into Day Logger location at BS741432. The 83 element is making security patrols around our Day logger and the 13 element on patrolling of the Area of Operation. At 1844hrs Alpha Company is moving into their Night Defense Position at BS732438 with the 13 element is in their snake location.
Bravo Company

At 0646hrs Bravo Company is at Day Logger BS775445 location at this time. Bravo Company 13 element linked up with the ARVN at the Bridge, also we request an interpreter to work with my 13 element. At 0730hrs the 83 element is now at bridge 402 to pull security for pick and shovel people. At 0735hrs we have linked up with the PRU and started out sweep. At 1345hrs we are in our new Day Logger position at BS788423. At 1030hrs Bravo Company location at BS773452 while sweep through Ville this moving we ran across what looks like a base camp for a VC force. We also found rice and charcoal enough to supply a squad, trip wire, atropine injector, medical supply (20 US made) tobacco, and batteries maybe used for booby traps. At 2030hrs Bravo Company moved into their Night Defense Position at BS800427 with the 66 snake at BS797420 and the 67 snake at BS806423.
Charlie Company

Delta Company

Snake Closed and at 0645hrs Delta Company is on the move to on a Company Recon in Force. At 1147hrs Delta Company is moving back to BS826420 to check out area around this grid. At 1937hrs Delta Company in Night Defense Position vicinity of BS844415 with our 84 element snake at BS840418.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0745hrs 4.2 Platoon report Schedule fires 14, observed mission 14 total expend: 33 HE and 1 WP along with 3 Illumination. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 1000hrs Recon Platoon after EOD team got here we found 75 meters of tunnel and a large room, request 3 40 pound shade charges to blow tunnel. Also found some sort of cleaning kit for a mortar. At 1949hrs Recon leaving their snake location at BS844423 At 2050hrs Recon request urgent Dust Off for 3 US who stepped on a booby trap, they received shrapnel wounds in their legs (King, Halverson and Watson). PFC Robert Halverson, at 2123hrs Recon Platoon reports the Booby Trap as a claymore type (homemade) TNT embedded with shrapnel and set off trip wire. PFC Gary King and PFC Tommie Watson where attached to 312th Evac Hospital (11B10 see August 11, 1969).
