Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continue their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1255hrs 1-20 Infantry your unit will select the NCO of the week. He will be picked up and brought to LZ Liz on the afternoon of 23 December. Request name on secure, passed to Bravo Company. At 1840hrs 1-20 Infantry we are required to provide security for lost hook load of ammo for Artillery. At 1645hrs LZ Liz Bunker report all Bunker OK Charlie Company LT Ching, Artillery LT Dodds, HHC CPT Holmes, Rear CPT Fitzpatrick all the plums are bobs. At 1855hrs Charlie Company on LZ Liz in front of bunker 18 the 18 element spotted 1 individual in green clothing observing element moving out to night ambush location, Charlie Company the 86 element, has engaged and he evade to the east, with negative results.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion. AAE reports at 0150hrs 174 Aviation at BS812385 reports SP5 Donald Selbey, 174 Aviation shot himself in the head with an M-16. Health and dentals records are being forwarded to Graves Registration for Positive Identifications.
Alpha Company

At 0745hrs Alpha Company moving off LZ Liz at 1055hrs, Alpha Company is on to their way to Stand Down at Chu Lai.
Bravo Company
December 22, 1969
At 0658hrs Bravo Company the 83 and 17 elements has closed on 83 at BS794380 and 17 is at BS776446. At 0658hrs Bravo Company Urgent Dust Off for 1 PF (169) stepped on M-14 round booby trap, wound to the foot, Dust Off completed at 0719hrs. At 1120hrs Bravo Company Dolphin 430 on station for insertion 1140hrs PZ pick up 99 element to BS793450 and last LZ, 22 element BS800450 at 1150hrs. At 1155hrs Bravo Company 12 element with 12 PF moving to BS784446, 18 element and PF are sweeping to BS810430. At 1205hrs Bravo Company 23 element spotted 1 VC at BS786441, chased into wood line at BS789441. The VC was carrying a weapon with negative finding at this time and we are still checking. At 1310hrs location BS794418 the 99 element found a tunnel containing two blue uniforms, 1 black uniform, 1 green uniform (all well pressed). Also 1 poncho liner, 2 transistor radio, 3 Chi Com grenades, 2 ammo cans, 1 pack of documents, 3 hammocks, food with rice very little. Along with 1 barber kit, 1 bush hat, 1 mosquito net, 1 VC map, 1 VC (looks to be like) Silver Star, 1 VC saw, one flag with sickle on it. Also picked up 3 detainees that the PF say they are VC. At 1424hrs Bravo Urgent Dust Off for 1 Vietnamese civilian that has frag wounds in both legs, hit by grenade booby trap set by PF, Dust Off completed at 1435hrs. At 1436hrs Bravo Company we have a total of 19 detainees that will be taken to my Command Post and will be sorted. At 1545hrs Bravo Company extracted of the 99 element at 1547hrs 1st PZ and Last LZ BS783433 at 1603hrs. At 1605hrs Bravo Company reports all elements have closed at BS783448. At 1940hrs Bravo Company 15 is located at BS778477, 24 is in location at BS781436 and 85 in location at BS792421 and 86 is moving to BS763435.
Charlie Company

At 0830hrs Charlie Company has closed on LZ Liz and has taken the Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 1645hrs Bunkers OK on LZ Liz checked by Lt. Ching. At 1855hrs Charlie on LZ Liz in front of bunker 18, the 86 element spotted one individual in green clothing observing element moving out tonight ambush location and the 86 element engaged and he evaded to the east.
Delta Company
December 22, 1969
Delta Company returns to LZ Bronco form Stand Down. At 1400hrs Delta Company moving out to preplanned location at BS780385 and closed at 1823hrs. At 1959hrs Delta Company 24 in location BS779396, 82 in location BS767374, 84 in location BS769371, 12 in location BS775386, 14 in location BS765380, and 22 in location BS777398.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for coordination of Base Defense. Recon Platoon will continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz and the Battalion.
