Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0455hrs 1-20 Infantry Saber 49 is on station to work Box 69, broke station at 0503hrs with negative SIT report. At 1030hrs 1-20 Infantry Dolphin 676 is on station for re supply. At 1230hrs 1-20 Infantry has Combat Assault for Alpha and Delta Company 1st PZ 1230hrs and 4th and Last LZ at 1332hrs, Alpha Company from LZ Dragon and Delta Company to LZ Liz. At 1915hrs 4th ARVN in contact with estimated 1 platoon of VC/NVA, guns now on station, they already hit 1 mine, 2 friendly shot, total of 3 ARVN WIA. At 2112hrs MACV Duc Pho reported that National Police and RD Cadre reported 2 Battalion of VC at grids BS747409 and BS751408. Radar on South OP and North OP directed to scan area. TOC has been worked up, B-2 ratings. At 2200hrs Radar North OP sighted 15 to 20 personnel moving east at BS715424, request WP up 200 (proximity Bravo Company 3rd Platoon). At 2209hrs the sighting had moved to 716424 and at 2214hrs the sighting had moved to 717423 and radar lost the target. At 2220hrs Bravo Company 3rd Platoon reports movement 300 to 400 meters to their south, Artillery fired Illumination at 2245hrs, when 1st round hit, element spotted 2 personnel evading into a clump of buses. Artillery Illumination ended at 2250hrs. St 2310hrs Saber 40 is on station to check out and broke station at 2350hrs with negative findings. At 2228hrs 1-20 Infantry to Alpha Company and Bravo Company request # of Mechanical Ambushes out tonight Bravo reports 2 Mechanical Ambush out and Alpha also has 2 Mechanical Ambushes out. Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company all elements moving at this time Alpha Company and Delta Company switch locations. Combat Assault started at 1230hrs finish at 1332hrs. At 1520hrs Alpha Company, Command Post spotted 2 personnel with packs and weapons vicinity grid BS675561, appear to be moving North at a distance of 2,000 meters will try to engage with a Fire Mission fired 8 Artillery rounds 105mm. At 1617hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon patrol is at checkpoint 2 at BS684511 and 2nd Platoon Patrol is moving out to BS693516. At 1620hrs Alpha Company 1st and 2nd Platoons, had observed a secondary explosion vicinity grid BS697514 during artillery Prep, element believes it was a booby trap with 60mm mortar round, was 800 meters to the northeast of perimeter. At 1955hrs Alpha Company location 1st and 2nd Platoon at BS679543, 1st Platoon ambush at BS677510, and 2nd Platoon ambush at BS696510 also Command Post and 4th Platoon is at BS679543. At Alpha Company has 2 mechanical Ambush out tonight.
Bravo Company

At 0715hrs Bravo Company 2nd Platoon at grid BS720430 while en route to their Patrol Base found 1 NVA satchel charge, destroy it in place. At 0730hrs Bravo Company Command Post and 1st Platoon in their Patrol base vicinity BS718468. At 0735hrs Bravo Company 2nd Platoon and 4th Platoon in their Patrol Base at BS721435. At 0825hrs 3rd Platoon while on the move to Patrol Base found 1 booby trap 105 round had trip wire with pressure release device located in old ARVN Night Defense Position and blown in place. At 1600hrs Bravo Company 2nd Platoon patrol closed on BS721435. At 2220hrs Bravo Company 3rd Platoon reports movement 300 to 400 meters to their south Artillery Illumination fired at 2245hrs, when 1st round hit element spotted 2 personnel evading into a clump of bushes with negative results. At 2228hrs Bravo Company has 2 Mechanical Ambushes out tonight reported to 1-20 Infantry.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company has the Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 1015hrs Charlie Company is moving out for Fire Support Bronco and closed on Bronco at 1035hrs moved by truck possible for their Stand Down.
Delta Company
April 22, 1971
At 0655hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon Ambush closed from BS683543. At 1717hrs Delta Company 3rd Platoon has linked up with 2nd Platoon at BS669556. At 0830hrs 1-20 Infantry Primo 3 is on station at this time. At 0905hrs Delta Company 2nd and 3rd Platoon elements is moving out to secure PZ vicinity BS660560. At 0925hrs 1st Platoon is moving to link up with Command Post and at 0925hrs Bravo Company 2nd Platoon in PZ and secured at BS660560. At 1230hrs Alpha and Delta Companies Combat Assault started at 1330hrs and completed at 1332hrs. Delta Company has end at LZ Liz to take over the Security Mission.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2
Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry on LZ Bronco possible for their Stand Down.
