Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0940hrs 1-20 Infantry Bravo Troop 1-1 Calvary will not be OPCON to 1-20 Infantry they will work under Brigade control in the 1-20 Infantry Area of Operation extension. Charlie Company Northern Boundary will be 515 Highway effective 210600hrs September 1970, approximate arrival time of Bravo Troop is BS211030. At 1105hrs 1-20 Infantry was informed by access road security than an Engineer CPT on his way to LZ Liz, spotted some loose gravel on the north edge of the Access Road, he requested we close the road and re sweep, mine sweep checked the area. No metal detected in the loose gravel, at BS777443 found a slit trench 8’ deep 3’ long, leading down to the road area, will be closely observed in the future. At 1650hrs Delta Company 34 element in response to agent report #dIP/09/5/70 (ARVN KL 5/1000/70) date of report 18 September rated B-3. The 86 and 87 element of Delta Company moved into the area vicinity BS739572. They started to search hootches for false floors in 1 hootch the false floor was removed revealing a large circular hole filled with rice. Further search of area revealed considerable quantities of rice, both in holes and laying loose on the ground no estimate of quantity is available at this time. At 1655hrs Brigade TOC received Intelligence report vicinity Battalion size element. Inform Delta Company who in turn diverted the 87 element to BS734556 to search area, helix 37 came on station at 1700hrs to give observer assistance, 87 reports negative findings at this time. At 1700hrs Delta Company 84 asked Routine Dust Off, 1 PF with 103 temperature completed 1720hrs. At 1804hrs Delta Company 84 element entered the area of suspected enemy location and saw 25 Vietnamese females and children divided into 2 groups. They pursued the Vietnamese but could not catch them. The 84 element broke off pursuit and moved to secure rice cache. At 1900hrs Delta Company 87 element when moving to BS746574 discovered 1 to 2,000 pounds of rice, will stay at the following to secure trails and all possible avenues of escape. Delta Company reports 84 at BS751572, 34 at BS742567 requesting 400 sandbags for early in the morning. At 1915hrs Delta Company 86 element detained 1 female age 18, name Huoing Vo Thi Xuan, she was evading to West when 86 patrol spotted her, she fought to get away, had negative ID, detained at BS743562. The 87 element detained 1 Vietnamese female age 20, with child also evading to west will evac tomorrow. At 2230hrs Radar at LZ Snoopy BS743603, sighted 4 to 5 Stationary personnel, engaged with fire mission 32 HE rounds of Artillery. At 2345hrs Mo Duc Duc Thuan at BS770541 received 3 82mm rounds and some small arms fire, negative casualties enemy had a loudspeaker from a propaganda team, engaged with 30 HE and 10 Illumination rounds of Artillery. Legend: 1st Platoon 54-59, 2nd Platoon 84-89, 3rd Platoon 34-39, 4th Platoon 04-09 and CO 12.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company with Recon OPCON to Alpha established their Night Defense Positions at BS675575 and BS663573 will conducted multiple Day and Night ambushes with some patrolling in their Area of Operation.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company and RF and PF Co continued their Pacification program for the Hamlet and Security Mission for highway 1. At 0725hrs Bravo Company at BS712581 picked up 1 female age 35 had a trip wire on her person, also 9,700 Piasters she was turned into Military Intelligence. At 1005hrs Bravo Company 54 elements requests routine Dust Off for 1 PF who has slight frag in arms and buttocks received them when he hit a 105 trip wire booby trap, PF was with the 143 Company.
Charlie Company

At 0740hrs Charlie Company 86 has closed on BS722425, the 68 element is moving out for BS714425 and the 36 element is moving to BS723438. At 0750hrs Charlie Company 56 element is moved out for BS735397 and 86 with Command Post is at BS750570. Charlie Company Northern Boundary will be 515 Highway effective 210600hrs September 1970 approximately arrival time of B Troop 1-1 Calvary 211030hrs. At 1745hrs Charlie Company reports VIP Program purchased 2 81 HE and 1 155 HE dud and paid 200 Piasters. At 1935hrs Charlie Company 38 element in location BS735449, 34 in location at BS728442 and the 84 element is location at BS734436.
Delta Company

At 0630hrs Delta Company 84, 12 and 04 is moving to Day Logger at BS753571, the 34 element in Day Logger at BS755568 and the 54 element in Day Logger at BS775584. Delta Company the 35 element is moving out for BS755564. At 1040hrs Delta Company 36 at day ambush while moving back to Day logger found 1 booby trap, mackrel can full of Petna it was on pole with a trip wire device across a trail, destroyed in place. At 1630hrs Delta Company 38 element is moving out for BS758568 and at 1650hrs Delta Company 86 is moving to BS740580 and 87 to BS745574 with the 57 element moving to BS777575. Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for (1-20 Infantry) TASK FORCE HONIJYO. At 0607hrs Recon Platoon all elements closing on BS671575. At 0840hrs Recon Platoon and Alpha Company 34 element is sweeping to BS662576 and BS673576 the 54 and 86 elements in blocking position. At 1315hrs Recon Platoon at BS659576 found a booby trap, trip wire with pull right type, Petna in a small can and Booby trap was destroyed in palace. At 1935hrs Recon 54 reports Robin Hood in location and 55 Little APPLE in location both at BS663573.
