Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Cork and will continued to work with ARVN units their Area of Operations in OPERATION VERNON LAKE II. At 0913hrs 4-21 Infantry 11 vehicle convoy will depart Chi Lai when road is open, request 11 Brigade have escort meet convoy at Quang Ngai at 1200hrs.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0740hrs Delta Company 19 Engineer Mine Sweep found at BS881307 25 pound pressure type mine north of bridge 105 and destroyed in rice paddy. At 0933hrs 39 Engineer at BS720570 are receiving heavy small arms fire, request gunships. At 0815hrs 19 Engineer at BS831337 Mine Sweep north found a 105mm round, with grenade as detonation at the south and of village, between Bridge 108 and 109 and blew in place. At 1150hrs 19 Engineer reports Highway 1 is open from LZ Dragon south to Bong Song.
Alpha Company
November 21, 1968
Combat Assault by Recon Platoon Pick up zone 1423hrs at BS445583 landing Zone BS500598. Recon Platoon was acting as a blocking force for Alpha Company. Alpha Company pick up zone at 1337hrs at BS449592 landing zone at 1420hrs at BS494603, BS488605, BS485610 and BS486610 Combat Assault completed LZ Cold. Alpha Company reports Night Defense Position locations 13 and 133 at BS485615, 173 at BS483603 and 163 with Command Post at BS486611. Alpha Company reports that SP4 Tommy F. Acosta was attached to 312th Evac Hospital at 1420hrs sick.
Bravo Company

At 1100hrs Bravo Company at BS450575 found a clearing with what appeared to be a mortar position. At 1332hrs at BS452576 Bravo Company found a small hut complex with assorted equipment, ammo and rice cache of about 300 pounds of unpolished rice. They destroyed everything in place and then moved into their Night Defense Position at BS450588.

Delta Company

At 1050hrs Delta Company reports their locations D (-) BS428583, 133-BS426584, 173-BS428584. At 1210hrs Delta Company reports their locations Command Post at BS426585, 173 at BS424588, 167 at BS428587, 166 at BS423586 and 103 at BS428583. At 1825hrs Delta Company has moved into their Night Defense Position located at BS428578.
Echo Company

Echo Company is located at LZ Cork where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Cork. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Cork where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion). At 1050hrs Recon Platoon reports their location Recon (-) at BS444583 and 3rd squad at BS442582. At 1423hrs Recon Platoon conducts a Combat Assault PZ BS444583 and LZ at 1437hrs to BS500595. At 1825hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS499594.
