Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0003hrs Sabre 40 is on station to check out radar sighting of 20 personnel vicinity BS799514. At 0050hrs Saber 40 9obseved 2 personnel evade into hootch at grid BS788543, received clearance, engaged area with unknown results at 0110hrs Saber 40 broke station for Chu Lai, at 0510hrs Radar OP.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
March 21, 1971
Alpha Company continued to use saturation patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0930hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon patrol is moving to BS643567. At 1008hrs Alpha Company 3rd Platoon patrol is moving to checkpoint 1 at BS633560. At 1126hrs Alpha 2nd Platoon patrol is closing at BS640564. At 1140hrs Alpha Company 3rd Platoon Patrol is moving to BS641556. At 1222hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon Day Ambush location is at BS642572. At 1334hrs Alpha Company 3rd Platoon is at checkpoint 3 at BS646565. At 1535hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon patrol is at checkpoint 3 at BS768410. At 1930hrs Alpha Company is preplanned location 2nd Platoon Night Defense Position at BS640564, 2nd Platoon ambush BS640570, 3rd Platoon Night Defense Position BS635558, 3rd Platoon ambush vicinity BS630563, and Command Post, 1st Platoon and 4 Platoon Night defense Position BS641531.
Bravo Company

At 0645hrs Bravo Company 2nd Platoon moving out to the north, 3rd Platoon moving to area of yesterday contact vicinity BS666505, Command Post 1st and 4th Platoon moving to low lands vicinity BS674513. At 0900hrs while moving to last night contact area, vicinity BS674507, 2nd Platoon found 2 sleeping bunkers, 2 NVA uniforms (all Green), 25 pounds of cooked rice, 2 empty NVA rucksacks, 1 cooking pot and eating utensils for 20 men all destroyed. At 1150hrs Bravo Company Command Post element destroyed 1 bunker 8’ by 8’ found 20 sterile NVA bandages all were destroyed (burned them) and continuing to search vicinity BS674507. At 1155hrs Bravo Company 2nd Platoon further sweep of the immediate area BS674507 reported 3 bunkers 6 X 10 destroyed. 1 Booby trap hand frag grenade with trip wire in hedgerow blown in place, 10 gals of corn oil destroyed. Also 4 NVA rucksacks CIA, 75 rice bowls destroyed, and 300 feet of commo wire CIA. At 1945hrs Bravo Company 2nd Platoon and 4th Platoon along with the Command Post at BS674513, 1st and 3rd Platoon vicinity BS667508.
Charlie Company
March 21, 1971
Charlie Company continued to have the Security Mission for LZ Liz along with road security. Charlie Company 2nd Platoon moving to BS744421. At 1018hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon patrol is moving to BS766417, found bunker with rice (101 pounds) used in last 2 to 3 days vicinity BS763414 and closed back on LZ Liz at 1623hrs.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued to patrol their Area of Operation. At 1126hrs Delta Company Command Post and 1st Platoon is moving out for BS648477. At 1830hrs Delta Company moved into their Night Defense Position at BS654502.
Echo Company
March 21, 1971
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 0704hrs Recon is moving out to vicinity BS725435 and at 0710hrs report at checkpoint 1 BS743432. At 0915hrs Recon in pre planned location vicinity BS713434. At 1247hrs Recon Platoon is closing at this time on LZ Liz. At 1745hrs Recon is moving out to vicinity BS725435. At 1949hrs Recon is in their pre planned location at BS728447.
