Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0050hrs Bravo Company LT Woianski inspected bunkers 15, 16, 17, 1, 2, and 3 all were satisfactory. At 0245hrs Warlord Blue in Nighthawk Box 66, negative findings at 0320hrs moved into Box 64 with negative findings. At 0403hrs Warlord Blue is going around LZ Liz perimeter and broke station at 0408hrs. At 0435hrs MACV Duc Pho, RF 103 at 0150hrs vicinity BS833396 received 1 M-79 round resulting in 1 RF WIA, Dusted Off at 0415hrs to Quang Ngai. US confirmed. At 0725hrs Alpha Company extension Requests: BS6940 to BS7346 south along foothills to BS7245 to BS6945 to start, ARVN (MINH), Mo Duc (MUOF), Brigade (LWM) Delta Company Extension Upper Left BS7540, Lower Right BS7636, ARVN (MINH), Duc Pho (MKF), Ba To (MC), Brigade (LWM). At 0900hrs PSDF of Hai Mon Village on 210725hrs at vicinity 828406, have 1 PSDF was killed by a mine on road, unknown type, not US confirmed. At 0900hrs RF 169 at 210615hrs vicinity 854302, RF made contact while on a raid resulting in 2 VC KIA, 1 .45 caliber pistol CIA, US confirmed. At 1030hrs MACV Mo Duc called a Dust Off for 1 PF with leg partly blown off by Booby Trap at BS733610, Bird #89, completed at 1040hrs. At 2015hrs 1-20 Infantry field strength Alpha 50, Charlie 43, Delta 56, Echo 18 and HHC 8. At 2113hrs 1-20 Infantry Mechanical Ambushes: Alpha 4, Charlie 2, Delta 3 and Recon 1 for a total 10 out. Legend: 1st Platoon 81, 2nd Platoon 83, 3rd Platoon 59, 4th Platoon 88, CO-50.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for Chu Lai.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company will continued to use Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 1953hrs Alpha Company all elements in their Night Defense Position 2nd Platoon and Command Post at BS710475, 1st Platoon at BS698472 with 4 Mechanical Ambush out.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company Continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz and Access Road security. 1SGT Heinz H. Ruby was attached to the 91 Evac Hospitals.
Charlie Company
July 21, 1971
Charlie Company set up Patrol Base and conducts multiple patrols in their Area of Operation. At 1255hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon is moving to BS707507. At 1955hrs Charlie Company Command Post and 2nd Platoon in their Night Defense Position at BS705509. At 2020hrs Charlie Company requests Urgent Dust Off for Vietnamese interpreter with 103-104 degree temperature, (Delirious), vicinity BS705512, Dust Off denied until 1st Light at 0610hrs Dust Off not required.
Delta Company

Delta Company will continued to use Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. Delta Company Field Strength total is 56. At 0631hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon and Command Post is moving to Patrol Base at BS745376. At 0640hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon is moving to their Patrol Base at BS743386. At 0845hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon Patrol Base at BS742387. At 2053hrs Delta Company moved into their Night Defense Positions Command Post and 2nd Platoon at BS750384. The 2nd Platoon ambush is at BS752382, 1st Platoon at BS749378 and 1st Platoon ambush is at BS746384. At 2055hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon spotted movement 40 meters to their south, they fired up the area with small arms, checked the area out with negative findings, Delta Company has 4 Mechanical Ambush out.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 0617hrs Recon is moving out to LZ Liz at this time and closed on LZ LIZ at 1737hrs. At 1810hrs Recon is moving out to BS750411 and closed on their Night Defense Position at 2004hrs.
