Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0410hrs 1-20 Infantry reports Radar sighted at 1910hrs 5 to 7 personnel moving east at grid BS739422 and engaged with 9 HE of 4.2 Mortar rounds and at 2200hrs 5 to 6 stationary personnel were sighted at grid BS730462 and engaged with 18 HE of Artillery 155mm. At 2230hrs 8 to 10 stationary personnel were sighted at grid BS744488 and engaged with 20 HE of Artillery 155mm and at 2325hrs TMF sighted 7 to 8 stationary personnel at grid BS848403 and engaged with 8 firecracker rounds and 2 HE of Artillery 105mm. At 2340hrs 30 to 35 stationary personnel were sighted at BS735484 and engaged with 8 firecracker rounds and at 0130hrs 7 to 8 stationary personnel were sighted at grid BS748407 and engaged with 10 HE of Artillery 105mm. At 0215hrs 20 to 25 stationary personnel were sighted at grid BS783397 and engaged with 15 HE Artillery 105mm and at 0320hrs 10 to 15 personnel were sighted moving southwest at grid BS781489 and engaged with 18 HE of Artillery 155mm. At 0430hrs radar sighted 7 to 8 stationary personnel at BS739473 and engaged with 9 HE of 4.2 Mortar rounds and TMF at 0430hrs spotted 3 personnel with metal stationary at BS798328. Brigade to 1-20 Infantry the 4-3 Infantry element, which is presently in the rice bowl, will be Combat Assault into the southern portion of the Rocket Pocket at 0800hrs tomorrow. They may interfere with Delta Company 1-20 Infantry and will let us know what Area of Operation they will be in. We can work our plans around this. The S-5 Civilians will be working on dams in the following location today BS779410 and BS774430. At 1300hrs 1-20 Infantry reports all bunkers are in satisfactory condition and have plumb bobs. Inspected by CPT Donovan, 1-82 Artillery by 1SGT Jaroze, Headquarters and Headquarters Company by 1LT Johnson, rear by PFC Robinson. At 1350hrs Battalion Commander departed LZ Liz and returned to LZ Liz at 1800hrs. At 1515hrs Division Commander arrived at LZ Liz and departed at 1530hrs and at 1610hrs Division Commander Departed LZ Liz. At 1630hrs Brigade Command arrived at LZ Liz and departed at 1640hrs. At 1650hrs at BS785392 Shark 5 spotted several military age males 20-25 of ate wearing blue, the other about 15-20 of age wearing civilian clothes taken to Bravo Company both were evading. And at 1710hrs Bravo Company conducts Combat Assault of troops PZ at BS783433 and LZ at BS785392. At 2045hrs Brigade to 1-20 Infantry we will have a bulldozer on LZ Liz on the 23 February to clear the field of fires.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company to Chu Lai for their Stand Down at 1055hrs as Charlie Company returns for their Stand Down.
Bravo Company
February 21, 1970
At 0620hrs Bravo Company the 76 element while moving to their position picked up one male, grid BS754494, waking up and down a trail, he was approximately 25 years old. At 0705hrs Bravo Company 75 element spotted 2 VC with weapons evading to the west and requests gun ships. Gun ships were not available and Primo 6 came on station at 0710hrs and observed with negative results. The 75/PF picked up 3 VC and have another 6 are under interrogation which later were released. At 0908hrs the 76 element found a cache of 30 bicycles BS754449 they were buried under a bed in a hootch. At 0908hrs Bravo Company the 1038hrs the RF and PF are now moving back at this time the bicycles found were distributed to the RF and PF and the 3 detainee found will be turned over to MACV. Bravo Company all elements moving to Night Defense Position BS774364. At 1630hrs at BS785392 spotted some possible VC/NVA and at 1710hrs Bravo Company conducts a Combat Assault PZ BS783433 to LZ BS785392 Bravo Company check out area with negative results.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company returns from Chu Lai at 1055hrs (AJAX 108) and takes over the Security Mission for LZ Liz. Charlie Company reports their snake locations 76-BS762436, 35-BS768438, 45-BS774441, and 74-BS759453.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued to use multiple patrolling and some Day Ambush in their Area of Operation. At 0749hrs Delta Company all snakes have closed on BS763334 and the 32 element is clover leafing to BS750326, the 42 element patrol to BS780326 and the 72 element is clover leafing in the Night Defense area. 1-20 Infantry the 4-3 Infantry element, which is presently in the rice bowl, will be Combat Assault into the southern portion of the Rocket Pocket at 0800hrs tomorrow. They may interfere with Delta Company 1-20 Infantry and will let us know what Area of Operation they will be in. We can work our plans around this. At 1930hrs Delta Company Night Defense Position is at BS775359 with snakes 44 BS772358, 74 BS772363 and 34 BS776363.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0748hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Observed Mission 3 for a total expend of 26 HE rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. At 0735hrs Recon Platoon report 42 and the 44 element have closed on BS788460, we will be moving out in 10 minutes. At 0830hrs Recon Platoon we have reached checkpoint 1 and at 0920hrs Recon Platoon reports they have closed on LZ Liz.
