Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz and continued to provide security patrols for the access road.
Bravo Company
April 21, 1970
At 0222hrs Bravo Company Command Post heard voices on the north side of perimeter talking to the ARVN trying to get them to Chu Hoi. PF went to check area at grid BS782435 found some Chu Hoi leaflets were for US Officers and EM too. Chu Hoi another leaflets was propaganda of South Vietnam, and of allied counties, intelligence also while PF were checking some civilians told them at (0205hrs) 10 VC come out of Kim Giao and went into Van Trong (1). At 0720hrs Bravo Company the 04 element is moving out to BS778428, the 45 element has 2 detainees one female 30-40 years old and one male 20-30 believed to be a draft dodger. Both have multiple ID. At 1300hrs Bravo Company Request Urgent Dust Off for 1 US with multiple frag wounds, received wounds right leg and right arm from booby trap pressure release hand frag, his line #86 SP4 Kenneth Sumner, also line # 19 frag in foot SSGT Chester Bolton, Dust Off completed at 1312hrs. At 1712hrs Bravo Company the 44 element found a booby trap our point man trip it with negative casualties hand frag (US) with trip wire attached this was at grid BS768453. At 1815hrs Bravo Company 43 element found family type bunker recently used at BS765435, cooking equipment and clothing was found inside. The 43 element blew the bunker. At 1844hrs the 43 element found in hedgerow a bag containing 1 US canteen, 2 bottles insect repellent, medical supplies, 2 flashlight (US), 1 rain jacket and documents at grid BS765435. At 2245hrs Bravo Company Command Post one of the bunkers spotted 10 VC moving into Ville approximately grid BS7843, patrol went out to check area had negative finding. Bravo Company reports that SP4 Kenneth D. Sumner and SGT Chester R. Bolton where evac to 91st Evac Hospital.
Charlie Company

At 0647hrs Charlie Company 03 element found 4 bags of rice a bag of rags, eating and nothing of importance in bags so will destroy at grid BS741435. At 0835hrs Charlie Company at BS739442 the 65 element found 1 hut and 2 bunkers destroyed. At 1040hrs Charlie Company at BS746443 found a homemade pistol, shoots M-79 rounds made of hollow Bamboo pole with strip of rubber band, evac to LZ Liz. At 1611hrs Charlie Company request Dust Off for 1 Vietnamese civilian female with high temp 105, Dust Off completed at 1720hrs. At 1954hrs Charlie Company Night Defense Position locations is at BS746449 with multiple ambushes in their Area of Operation.
Delta Company

Delta Company set up Day Logger and Platoons conducted saturation patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 2045hrs Delta Company all snakes in location and Night Defense Position at BS805465, ½ BS804454, 03 BS799463, 41 BS801473, 42 BS788475, 43 BS806476, 61 BS808444, 62 BS805449 and BS6380448.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. At 0500hrs Recon Platoon with National Police Field Force and PRU with aid of sharks detained 100 VCS at BS757554. The wrap of contact 3 SKS, 3 AK 47, 6 US pistol belts, 20 assorted Hand frag grenades HE and homemade grenades and 1 VC flag with 10 VC CIA with 15 VC KIA. At 1025 Recon Platoon reports their location at LZ Liz. At 2155hrs Recon Platoon, Primo 4 shot down BS7837 Dolphin 18 extracted pilots to Doc Control Recon Platoon was inserted at 1917hrs as a reaction force placed security around LOH. Another Element went to area where ship received fire and the results 2 VC KIA (Primo) 3 VC KIA (174 Aviation), 3 AK 47, 1 grease gun, 1 M-16, 1 M-1 carbine and 1 VC WIA CIA and was evac to 23 Medical. The LOH was extracted and Recon Platoon was extracted at 2100hrs and reports 1 WHA minor. At 2300hrs Recon Platoon at BS820406 put in area of radar target and sharks have engaged the area with Recon Platoon had negative finding and was extract. Spot report at 2245hrs reported 25 to 30 personnel moving east. Echo Company reports SP4 Robert D. Horner (Friar) 2310hrs treated at Battalion Aid Station with sprained right foot.
