Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Siberia and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0020hrs 1-20 Infantry called practice Alert with red/green star cluster. At 0022hrs Charlie Company and 4.2 mortar reports 100% and at 0342hrs Alert is over and was rated Satisfactory. At 0750hrs Resupply bird is on station tail # 391. At 1635hrs S-4 Resupply bird is breaking station at this time. At 1650hrs Bravo Company LZ West call Dust Off for Kit Carson Scout with laceration of face and Dust Off completed at 1900hrs had no commo with Dust Off bird. Injuries were results of a dispute between US and Kit Carson Scout concerning SP Pack was believed to have been taken by Kit Carson Scout and either sold or given to the ARVN, (A Knife) which had been taken from the same bunker. Also a dispute between US and Kit Carson Scout over C Rations, the Kit Carson Scout picked up Rucksack and weapon, to get on a chopper to go to Chu Lai. When Rucksack was open up, US picked up the knife, the Kit Carson Scout reported pointed his weapon at the US Personnel, US troops jumped Kit Carson Scout proceeded to disarm him at this time. A US troop beat Kit Carson Scout received extent of injuries was laceration to face and possible broken nose. At 2000hrs From 198 Brigade to 1-20 Infantry they have reported strong indications that enemy activity will be taken against US in stations in Heip Duc Area of Operations, appropriate action should be taken.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for Chu Lai.
Alpha Company
September 20, 1971
At 1020hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon is moving to, there resupply position at AT882222 and at 1045hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon and Command Post is moving to resupply point AT882272, after resupply will continue to use Saturation Patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 1630hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon is moving to their Night Defense Position at AT876272 and all elements closed on Position at 1815hrs.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ West. At 1650hrs Bravo Company element at LZ West call for a Dust Off for Kit Carson South with laceration of face Dust Off was completed at 1900hrs, no commo with Dust Off bird. The injuries were results of a dispute between US from Bravo Company and a Kit Carson Scout with results that ended with a fight. Dispute between them was a SP Pack, which believed to have been taken by Kit Carson Scout and either sold or given to ARVN. A knife which had been taken from the same bunker, also there was a dispute between US trooper and the Kit Carson Scout over C Rations. Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Siberia with some Defense Patrolling around Fire Base. At 0020hrs 1-20 Infantry called practice Alert with red/green star cluster. At 0022hrs Charlie Company and 4.2 mortar reports 100% and at 0342hrs Alert is over and was rated Satisfactory.
Delta Company
September 20, 1971
At 0707hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon at AT863257 had a mechanical ambush go off, checked out area, found blood trail. The trail is leading from the area and also found 3 M-79 rounds otherwise negative finding. At 1045hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon returned to Patrol Base at AT863250. At 1605hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon has closed on AT863250. Delta Company 1st Platoon and Command Post are moving into their Night Defense Position at AT876272.
Echo Company
September 20, 1971
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Siberia, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 1045hrs Recon is moving out on patrol from AT858252. At 1515hrs Recon Patrol is at checkpoint AT858244.
