Headquarters and Headquarter Company
September 20, 1968

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Chevy and will continued to work with ARVN units and Special Forces in their Area of Operations. The 1-20 Infantry begins their part in Operation CHAMPAIGN GROVE and OPCON to Task Force GALLOWAY.

Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco with S4 section in Chu Lai.

 

Alpha Company
September 20, 1968

Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie Companies and Recon Platoon where all airlift back to HA THANH SPECIAL FORCES Camp. Alpha Company started to prepare for further operation.

 

Bravo Company
September 20, 1968

Alpha, Bravo and Charlie Company 1-20 Infantry are airlifted to HA THANH Special Forces camp, for further operations. At 1810hrs Valley Force TOC received approximately 20 82mm mortar fire from northwest suspect location BS369711. Received 3 round landed inside perimeter, negative casualties returned fire with artillery, 106 RR and 4.2 Mortar from Ha Thanh.

 

Charlie Company
September 20, 1968

At 0853hrs Charlie Company is at HA THANH Special Forces Camp and then moved to the southeast to BS463595.

 

Delta Company
September 20, 1968

At 1410hrs Delta Company was airlift to LZ Chevy to take over the Security Mission for the LZ Chevy. At 0800hrs SP4 Ted L. Casey and Chester Wortham were evac and attached to the 27th surgical Hospital (I believe they where WIA on September 19, 1968).

 

Echo Company
September 20, 1968

Echo Company is located at LZ Chevy where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Chevy. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Chevy where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion). Recon Platoon returns to Special Forces Camp HA Thanh
