Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0610hrs Battalion Command Message for the day, "It is a Big Pill Day" sent to all companies. Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for the Gaza Strip Operation.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion. HHC 1-20 Infantry picked up 2 female VCS BS740838, at grid BS823384, no ID they were turned in to Military Intelligence at LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

At 0840hrs Alpha Company Center of Mass for 13, 73 and 93 elements for clearing is BS789407. At 1605 Alpha Company Urgent Dust Off at grid BS784507 US hit a pressure type 105 booby trap results 4 WHA Dust Off, the 93 element Young, Stomach, chest, face (frag wounds), Taossone right leg am, lower jaw broken and left leg is broken. Dust Off completed at 1645hrs (utility and Command Control Helicopter) Grane-broken left leg, Wesley frag wounds in chest, stomach and visible broken left leg completed at 1716hrs. Alpha Company gives their status report of Clearing Operation we clear 170 areas today. Alpha Company reports the following: SGT Rodger D. Crane, PFC Fred J Tassone, PFC David E. Young and PFC James P. Wesley where evac to 91st Evac Hospital.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company will again be using Day Logger saturation patrolling and Ranger unit patrolling, and some sweeps and Day ambushes in their Area of Operation.
Charlie Company
October 20, 1969
Charlie Company will continue the Security Mission for LZ Liz. Charlie Company Combat Assault from LIZ to BS742522, by the 13 element 1st LZ 0740hrs, 2nd LZ 0745hrs and 3rd LZ 0804hrs.
Delta Company
October 20, 1969
At 0845 Delta Company is moving into their Day logger at BS738411. At 1827hrs Delta Company urgent Dust –Off 1 US shot himself, accidentally in the foot, Stoney Delta Company moved into their Night Defense Position at BS736407 and two elements are out and in their location. Delta Company reports PFC Michael C. Storey also SP4 Jack W. Hayden where evac to 91st Evac Hospital sick.
Echo Company
October 20, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 1340hrs Recon Platoon location is at BS758415 and at 1340hrs we have 2 Vietnamese kids, one with frag in face, one with injury to the mouth inflected by VC. We will Dust Off with Utility completed at 1400hrs. At 1445hrs Recon reports snake location for tonight BS765410 and at 1945hrs Recon Platoon in their snake location.
