Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1010hrs Air Strike sighted many camouflaged hootches and what appeared to be rocket site Bamboo V’s with dugouts behind and fighting position on ridge line from 735318 to 764333. Concrete bunkers at 760317 and 1 enemy was green uniform helmet and weapon is evading at BS792320. At 1245hrs Convoy received heavy automatic weapons fire vicinity at BS891273. At 1505hrs 1-20 Infantry approval given by S3 for use of 4 tracks and one bulldozer by Charlie Company on 21 May, will call if S3 has any changes on disapproval. At 1510hrs E Troop 1-Calvary and MP remind them of requirement in Duc Pho when General Nickerson visit. At 1815hrs 1-20 Infantry told that 1 platoon will work along boundary between 1-20 Infantry and ARVN Area of Operations. Recon Platoon is directed, to coordinate with LZ Bronco Base Defense but will stay under 1-20 Infantry control. At 1505hrs 1-20 Infantry give by S-3 for use of 4 tracks and 1 bulldozer by Charlie Company on 21 May, will call if S-3 has any changes on disapproval. At 1815rhs 1-20 told that 1 Platoon will work along the boundary between 4-20 Infantry and ARVN, Recon directed to coordinate with Base Defense but will stay under 1-20 Infantry Control. At 2020hrs Alpha Company 1-20 Infantry report trip flare went off southeast side and respond with small arms fire. At 2110hrs LZ Liz south side perimeter VC jerked claymore wires and respond with small arms and hand grenades and checking area now.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. 0020hrs LZ Bronco Base Defense spotted 1-2 VC fired 4 rounds 81mm mortars. At 0530hrs LZ Bronco at BS810416 to BS820413 2-3 VC fired 26 rounds of 81 mortar and 51 rounds Artillery.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company conducts Platoon Recon in Force vicinity BS7545, BS7445, and BS7345 and continues their Security Mission for LZ Liz. Alpha Company conducts Platoon Recon in Force vicinity BS755450, BS767457, and BS775425 screening the southern boundary of the 1 Battalion 4th ARVN.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company conducts Recon in Force vicinity BS7340 and BS7439. Bravo Company conducts Platoon saturation patrolling at BS773371.
Charlie Company
May 20, 1969
Charlie Company conducts saturation patrolling in vicinity ambush alley. Charlie Company with 4 tracks secured BS800425. Charlie Company continues their joint operation with 1 Platoon of PF to secure Pacification Program in their Area of Operation. At 1040hrs Charlie Company at BS787440 found 6 Punji pits and many 30 caliber cartridge destroyed. At 2230hrs Charlie Company at BS789425 received 2 burst of sniper fire, came from west of red ball, 150 to 200 meters away.
Delta Company

Delta Company conducts saturation patrolling vicinity BS7931 and conducted a Recon in Force to grid at BS7931. At 0900hrs Delta Company at BS778363 found 1 claymore and firing device wrapped up in NVA Poncho buried in hole destroyed.
Echo Company
May 20, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon has move to LZ Bronco to take part in the Security for LZ Bronco.
