Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0100hrs TMF String 76 were activated by a stationary target with no metal detected and engaged the target with 105 Artillery 6 VT rounds. At 0100hrs Nighthawk is on station in box 65 with negative findings or expenditures. At 0430hrs Radar sighting were as follows at 0100hrs at BS746383 spotted 1 to 5 stationary personnel were engaged with 19 HE rounds of 105 Artillery. At 0005hrs sighted 1-5 stationary personnel were engaged at BS745408 with 8 HE of 105 Artillery. At 0045hrs TMF expended 6 HE of 105 Artillery on a stationary target at BS700485 and at 0420hrs 1-5 personnel where moving southwest with 16 HE rounds of 155 Artillery expended. At 1455hrs Brigade effective 220800 to 250800 August 1970, 1 platoon of E Troop will be placed OPCON to 1-20 Infantry to work with Alpha Company in their Area of Operation. 1 Platoon of Alpha Company will be placed OPCON to E Troop to operation in the area BS640500 to BS670500 to BS670500 to BS670510 to BS700533 to BS666540 to BS650530 to BS640500, was approved by Colonel Lynch and CPT Beavers. Legend: 1st Platoon 51-56, 2nd Platoon 41-16, 3rd Platoon 91-96 and CO 32.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

At 0910hrs Alpha Company 50 found AK 47 rounds and a magazine and pouch, one M-26 with fuse minus the blasting cap, 2 105 dud rounds, 2 chi com grenades, 2 57mm recoilless rounds were brought for $Vietnamese 2,000. At 0900hrs Alpha Company 51 element is moving to 695545 to check the area for possible Day Logger for Engineers. At 1455hrs Brigade (Effective 220800hrs to 250800hrs August 1970) one platoon of E troop will be placed OPCON to 1-20th Infantry to work with Alpha Company in their Area of Operation. One platoon of Alpha Company will be placed OPCON to E troop to operate in the area BS640500 to BS67500 to BS670510 to BS700510 to BS700533 to BS666540 to BS6950530 to BS640500. Alpha Company will use multiple patrolling and Day Ambushes in their Area of Operation.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company used multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation today along with some Day ambushes.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz and at 1020hrs will move to LZ Bronco for Retraining and their Stand Down.
Delta Company
August 20, 1970
Delta Company is at LZ Bronco for retraining and at 1015hrs will close on LZ Liz and taken over the Security Mission for LZ Liz.
Echo Company
August 20, 1970
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry at LZ Liz.
