Headquarters and Headquarter Company
April 20, 1968
Forward Area 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Ross for Operation WHEELER-WALLOWA and are OPCON to the 198th Light Infantry Brigade. As the 196th Light Infantry Brigade moves north to support the Marines.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. S-4 section moves a team to LZ Ross, which will become part of the Rear Area forward.
Alpha Company
April 20, 1968
Alpha Company has join the 1-20 Infantry in their move north to LZ Ross Area of Operation and moved out to conduct Search and Destroy Operations.
Bravo Company
April 20, 1968
Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Ryder and OP in their Area of Operation.
Charlie Company
April 20, 1968
Charlie Company joined the Battalion on their move north to the LZ Ross Area of Operation and conduct Search and Destroy Operations in their Area of operation vicinity AT9630.
Delta Company
April 20, 1968
Delta Company has taken over the Security Mission for LZ Ross. Delta Company 1st Platoon sweeping road from LZ Ross to LZ Baldy where VC had set up ambush and Delta Company received 4 WHA that day Freddy Falgoust was one of them and 2 engineers working on clearing the Road. Delta Company also had the Security Mission of LZ Ross. PFC Freddy J. Falgoust JR., PFC Joseph E. Fowler, and PFC Michael R Richards awarded the Purple Heart.
Echo Company
April 20, 1968
Echo Company is located at LZ Ross where Battalion Forward is located and coordinates with the Battalion Rear as they are moving to LZ Ross their new location by convoy from Duc Pho. The 4.2 Mortar Platoon is at LZ Ross where the continued their direction fire support for Battalion Operations.
