Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Siberia and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0825hrs 1-20 Infantry S-2 to S-3 need all Kit Carson Scout and interpreters to be in Chu Lai, not later then Day 02, they will be turned in on Day 03 in the morning. Also Requests Clearness for operation Upper Left AT9323, Lower Right AT9620 time 0600hrs to 2000hrs 02 October 1971. At 1045hrs LOH requested 0930hrs to 1130hrs on 02 October 1971. At 1120hrs Brigade Commander arrived at LZ Siberia and departed at 1140hrs. At 1305hrs Slow Motion #4 is on station and broke station at 1430hrs. At 1350hrs Dolphin 17 resupply bird is breaking station at this time. At 1400hrs AMC Bird is on station for Combat Assault of Charlie Company 1st PZ AT874238 and 1st LZ at AT923275 and at 1540hrs 2nd PZ at AT874238 and 2nd, last LZ at AT923275. At 1700hrs LATE SPOT V-67 at AT927278 found 1 tunnel 2 to weeks old, 3 X 3 went in 1 yard, then turned left and continued for unknown distance, destroyed place. At 2001hrs Received Intelligence from Keip Duc, Rated C-3 300 NVA with B-40 and small arms at AT985208 and AT946257. At 2100hrs 1-20 Infantry reports ARVN Locations 2-5 at AT904246, -BT052422, (ARVN) PF is at AT972218, 3-5 at BT010293 and BT012297. At 2300hrs LATE SPOT reports RF/DF locations AT890242, AT89235 and AT904236.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for Chu Lai.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ west and preparations for move to Chu Lai. Alpha Company reports SP4 Donald N. Morgan was attached to the 95th Evac Hospital (I believe see 30 September 1971).
Bravo Company
October 1, 1971
At 0710hrs Bravo Company Command Post with 2nd Platoon is moving to Patrol base at AT915265 and closed on Patrol Base at 0740hrs. 1-20 Infantry the S-2 and S-3 to Companies: needs all Kit Carson Scouts and interpreters in Chu Lai no later then October 2, 1971. They will be turned in on October 3, 1971. At 0910hrs Bravo Company Command Post with 2nd Platoon closed on Patrol Base at AT915265. At 1232hrs Bravo Company 1st Platoon is moving to Patrol Base at AT907265. Bravo Company called and requested Dust Off for 1 US with frag wound to the right knee at AT918267 Dust Off completed at 1955hrs by Dust Off #89 and evac to Chu Lai. At 1915hrs Bravo Company Command Post was moving into their Night Defense Position when point man observed figure 40 to 50 yards to front engaged with a frag grenade and point man was hit in the knee possible a frag from grenade. Bravo Company sweeps the area with negative results. At 2040hrs Bravo Company all elements in their Night Defense Position at AT915268 and 1st Platoon is at AT911268.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company is planning to use multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation today. At 1400hrs AMC Bird is on station for Combat Assault of Charlie Company 1st PZ AT874238 and 1st LZ at AT923275 and at 1540hrs 2nd PZ at AT874238 and 2nd Last LZ at 923275. At 1815hrs Charlie Company is moving to AT922277. At 2000hrs Charlie Company has closed on their Night Defense Position at AT923275. At 1730hrs Charlie Company at AT923275 requests a tactical Urgent Dust Off for Hyde, Joseph with bronchitis and Fulleokamp, Luke with 103 temp unknown.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Siberia as the 1-20 Infantry prepares for their airlift on October 4, 1971. At 1120hrs Brigade Commander arrived at LZ Siberia and departed at 1140hrs.
Echo Company
October 1, 1971
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Siberia, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 0700hrs Dolphin 17 is on station for resupply. At 0815hrs Recon is moving to grid AT860205. At 1135hrs Recon report their location at AT861209. At 1135hrs Recon at AT858208 found sleeping positions for 20 to 25 people also found about 10 campfires believed to be about 2 weeks old. Mackeral cans in area which Recon to believe it was NVA there has been no fresh movement in the area. At 1955hrs Recon has closed on their Night Defense Position at grid AT864218.
