Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. Late Report DATE/TIME 301930hrs Sharks on Station for Visual Recon at 1720hrs at BS809348 found freshly build bunker, cooking fires and foxholes along trails. At 1819hrs at BS808308 found 5 huts, 4 recently build and 1 being built, they were well camouflaged and spotted cooking fires destroyed hut and broke station at 1920hrs.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 1405hrs 1-20 Infantry Rear found holes in the wire in front of Bunker #58, large enough for a man could walk through. Headquarters and Headquarters Company (CPT Holmes notified) will repair prior to dark tonight.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company is using Day Logger at BS747457 and Saturation Patrolling and some Day Ambush in their Area of Operation. At 1700hrs Alpha Company 53 at BS749471 found 2 M-79 rounds and 400 M-60 rounds, VC flag and 1 VC Newspaper undated. These items found in a hedgerow in 2 50caliber (ammo) cans, will evac to MACV Mo Duc. The National Police is working with Alpha Company and all ammo is in good shape. At 1934hrs Alpha Company is moving into their Night Defense Position at BS742458. At 2215hrs Alpha Company 35 at BS735446 checked out a village before moving into snake location, the village was unoccupied at the time and decided to put claymores on out shirts of Village. Element then proceeded to set up in ambush location heard voices in village spotted 2 VC/NVA coming out of the village and blew claymores and fired small arms. Alpha Company then checked area found 1 VC KIA, wearing black PJ, 20-25, negative weapons, and other enemy was able to evade in unknown direction. This village was 30 meters west of ambush and will check area at first light.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued to work with joint operations using sweeps and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. Bravo Company continues their working on the Pacification Program along Highway 1. Bravo Company with the RF and PF will use many Night Ambushes and some patrolling along Highway 1.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. Charlie conduct security patrols around LZ Liz during the day and conducts night ambushes and patrols along the access road.
Delta Company
May 1, 1970
Delta Company will continue to use multiple patrolling and multiple Day and Night ambush in their Area of Operation. At 0840hrs Delta Company set up their Day Logger at BS755403 from which they can run saturation patrolling. At 1950hrs Delta Company is moving into their Night Defense Position at BS755402 with multiply ambushes out.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. At 1015hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS813423. At 1822hrs Recon Platoon reports their Night location at BS815423. At 2025hrs Recon Platoon reports 53 at BS834410, 51 at BS840414, and 55 at BS831418.
