Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Battalion Headquarters is located at LZ Liz in the Duc Pho Area of Operations and continued to work with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1925hrs Headquarters 1/20 Infantry spotted 3 NVA with packs and weapons at BS738402 fired 81 and 4.2 mortars with negative assessment.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued to carry out their Mission of general support for the Battalion. At 0320hrs 11 Brigade at LZ Bronco from BS82964087 at 0305hrs Received 6 140mm rockets and 10 75mm Recoilless Rifle fire and Artillery returned on location at 0311hrs. Impack Area: 1 by gate, 1 on Engineer Hill, 1 on north end of runway, 1 on Montezuma Hill and 1 in the 1-20 Infantry Rear Area with results 3 US WHA (E) and 5 US WIA (M). the 75 Recoilless Rife fire was all in direction of S-2/S-3 TOC with Damage results 1 Mess Hall destroyed, 1 Living Quarters destroyed and 1 Huey Helicopter with some damage from frag. At 1845hrs LZ Bronco received 4 rounds 140mm rockets results with 3 US KIA and 4 US WIA 2 (E) and 2 (M). We have 1 KIA from 523 Signal, 1 KIA 40th Signal BN, 1 KIA from HHC (E) with 2 WIA from 40th Signal and 2 WIA (M) unknown unit, enemy at BS7827-BS7932. At 1900hrs received 4 140mm rockets with negative casualties or damage, and at 2030hrs received 2 rounds 140mm rockets with negative casualties or damage. At 2030hrs received 2 rounds of 140 rockets and at 2135hrs received 3 rounds unknown type, were duds both with negative casualties or damage.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz and at 1020hrs completed their air move to Chu Lai for their Stand Down.
Bravo Company
June 1, 1969
Bravo Company conducts a air move to Fire Support Base Liz to secure and take over the Security Mission for LZ Liz completed at 0930hrs.
Charlie Company
June 1, 1969
At 0800hrs Charlie Company in their Night Defense Position at BS809434, with 34 at BS787424 took Machine gun fire from BS810442 (negative casualties) War Lord Gun ships checking area now. Charlie Company conducts a Recon in Force to Vicinity BS7944, BS8144, BS7941, and BS8141 a sweep and clear of the area of yesterday contact. Delta Company was also sweeping the area with Charlie Company along with the Recon Platoon. At 1135hrs Charlie Company at BS802428 made contact with an unknown size enemy force results was one NVA KIA and at 2000hrs at BS811420 Charlie Company 1-20 had contact with a unknown size force results one AK 50 captured.
Delta Company

Delta Company at 0800hrs Delta Company in their Night Defense Position at BS789425 along with Charlie Company and Recon Platoon sweep the area of contact yesterday using a Recon in Force operation. At 1200hrs Delta Company is located at BS802428, and by 1925hrs Delta Company had negative finding and moved into their Night Defense Position at BS792426.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 1830hrs the 1/20 Infantry spotted NVA with packs and weapons at BS738402 fired 81 and 4.2 mortars with negative assessment. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 0800hrs Recon Platoon vicinity BS809434 is moving in a Recon in Force to LZ Liz. Recon Platoon from 4/21 Infantry at LZ Liz was extracted out at 1500hrs from BS768403 to LZ Bronco. At 1925hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS768403 and 21 at BS761405.
