Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry, Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. LZ Liz is located at BS755432. At 0640hrs Weather, Partly cloudy with occasional rain, Northeast winds 10 to 20 knots, temperature 75 to 65, humidity 95 to 75%, outlook little change through Saturday. Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

At 0830hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon ambush at BS756558, Command Post section is at OP Frag BS758377 and 3rd Platoon at Patrol Base BS722418. At 0830hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon ambush is at BS756558 and 1st Platoon is at BS739575. At 0835hrs Alpha Company checked area of sniper fire with negative finding, using saturation patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 1000hrs Alpha Company Command Post at BS753568, 2nd Platoon at BS757555, 1st Platoon at BS742570 and 3rd Platoon at BS754585. At 1200hrs vicinity BS753568 request Dust Off for Vietnamese male with broken left arm completed at 1255hrs. At 1530hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon patrol is moving out for BS763556 and 3rd Platoon patrol is moving out for BS755583. At 1912hrs Alpha Company CO, 1st-4th Platoon at BS753568, 4th ambush BS753582, 1st platoon ambush BS743569, BS741566, and 2nd platoon BS759557, BS760558. SGT Ronald Foster was evac to the B 23 Medical Treated and Released (2200hrs January 31, 1970 gun shot wound right thigh at 2024hrs on January 31, 1970 Alpha Company reports received M-79 rounds and small arms fire from 400 meters North with the result 1 US WHA and evac to B 23 Medical.

Charlie Company

At 0830hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon is moving for BS685535 and at 0910hrs Charlie Company Command Post closed in on BS699563, 4th Platoon at BS699563, and the 3rd Platoon is at 699563. At 1655hrs Charlie Company in vicinity BS693538, requests Urgent Dust Off for 1 US who received trip flare fragments in the eves, while setting it up. PFC Amos Leblea, was released from 23rd Medical to Battalion Aid Station. No lose of eyesight completed at 1710hrs. At 1920hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon in location BS679530, 3rd Platoon BS701533 and at 1940hrs the 2nd Platoon vicinity BS670575. At 1801hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon patrol closed vicinity BS673572. At 1910hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon ambush in location vicinity BS678539 and 2nd Platoon ambush is located at BS674574.
Delta Company

At 0730hrs Delta Company Command Post 735396, 2nd Platoon ambush closed on BS724415 and 3rd platoon closed on BS759376. Delta Company then started to use multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0900hrs Delta Company at BS742396, 2nd Platoon on patrol located 1 155mm dud round with no markings, it was blown in place. At 1315hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon patrol is moving out for BS753375, 3rd Platoon and 3 Platoon Patrol is moving out for checkpoint 1 at BS724410. At 1941hrs Delta Company locations, Command Post 3rd Platoon and 4th Platoon at BS740396, 2nd Platoon BS733423, BS730420 and 1st Platoon BS735399.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 1000hrs S-4 Dolphin 223 is on station for re supply.
