Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0835hrs E Troop and Recon Platoon are returned to LZ Liz from their Stand Down in Chu Lai. At 0950hrs Warlord at grid BS785485 we have one military age male dressed in green shorts and with short hair cut. When the team went into pick him up he evaded but they got him and are bring him to LZ Liz. No ID or weapon but we found some clothing and a diary. We will blow the tunnel. Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for the Gaza Strip Operations.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion.
Alpha Company

At 0850hrs Alpha Company 13, 93 and 73 elements all located at grid BS789497. At 1932hrs we are now at BS791491. At 1640hrs Alpha Company we have cleared approximately 200 areas today.
Bravo Company
October 19, 1969
Bravo Company will again be using saturation patrolling and with Vietnamese conducting sweep and clear operations. At 0042hrs Bravo Company at BS783433 with the enemy location at BS788433 received 2 60mm Mortar rounds with negative casualties or damage and returned fire with Artillery and will sweep area in morning. At 0951hrs Bravo Company at grid BS785485 we have one military age male, dressed in green shorts with short hair cut. When team went in he evaded, but they got him and bring him to Liz. At 0951hrs at grid BS776400 our 73 element found a tunnel and in this tunnel they found a male VC/NVA KIA, wearing green shirt and blue shorts, age 30, no ID, or weapon, found clothes and a diary. We will blow the tunnel. At 1110hrs our 73 element has one female VCS sister of VC killed yesterday (the one we found in tunnel today) Also we have the name of KIA wife who has moved to Mo Duc and we will pick her up will evac to LZ Bronco. At 1155hrs Bravo Company our Ranger contacted with 4 VC, the VC were setting up an ambush for the Ranger element, all of them had weapons, One M-2 carbine, one AK47 and not certain about the type of the other weapons. The Ranger element flanked their position and then open fired we have one bleeding, possible a KIA but we can’t find the body. We are in the process of chasing the VC. Our Ranger element has 1 VC KIA with no weapon as he evaded into a tunnel. At 1428hrs Bravo Company at BS780458 detained 4 Vietnamese, 1 had a book with 7 names in it and evac to LZ Bronco. At 1856hrs Bravo Company at BS777445 claymore mine went off with results 1 Vietnamese female age 10 received frag wounds with Dust Off completed at 1905hrs. Bravo Company is conducting a investigation at this time on why the Claymore mine went off. At 2139hrs Bravo Company at BS783433 with enemy located at BS786434 received 3 M-79 rounds and small arms fire from tree line with no casualties or damage and returned fire with 81mm Mortar with unknown results at this time.
Charlie Company
October 19, 1969
Charlie Company Combat Assault our 93 element to BS742522 and last LZ 0723hrs. At 1010hrs Charlie Company at BS767410 engaged 1 VC with results 1 VC KIA. She was a VC Nurse and was carrying a medical bag. At 1805hrs the 93 element inserted into grid BS773413 for three days mission (12 men in element) last LZ 1828hrs. Charlie Company continued the Security Mission for LZ Liz.
Delta Company
October 19, 1969
Delta Company continued working their Area of Operations by using multiple Patrolling by elements. Delta Company Night Defense Position is at BS733404. Both the 93 and 73 elements have snakes out and in position. At 1421hrs Delta Company has a priority Dust Off for High Temp Name (Townsent). PFC Robert L. Townsend was evac to 91st Evac Hospital.
Echo Company
October 19, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 1428hrs Recon conducts a combat Assault 1st PZ 1350hrs last LZ 1422hrs. At 1436hrs Recon Platoon at BS818446 we have 1 male KIA age 30-32 who was evading, and the PRU shot him, no ID or weapon and 1 VC KIA. At 1445hrs Recon we are in our objective and we spotted 5 VC evading at this time. At 1716hrs Report Recon and PRU conduct Combat Assault PRU to Duc Pho and Recon to grid BS763423 from grid BS829430.
