Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0705hrs to 1-20 Infantry have only two Scout Dog teams for 0700hrs tomorrow, possible at 1400hrs there may be two more. At 0830hrs MACV Duc Pho on 20 November 1969 from 0830hrs to 1400hrs Vietnamese Civilian will be at BS904305. They will be displaying to. National Flags, from 20 November to 25 November from 0800hrs to 1700hrs daily, People will be cutting rice at BS760438, BS770444 they will also have a National Flag Displayed. At 1207hrs Command and Control Helicopter at BS7944 received small arms fire, negative casualties received two hits. At 2100hrs 1-20 Infantry to Brigade TOC S-3: Requested that Base Defense not H & I to the north with Quad 50, but to engage targets with Artillery instead. Relayed and confirmed to Base Defense.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion. At 39 Engineers roads open LZ Bronco to Chu Lai. At 1000hrs Charlie Company 39 Engineer at BS813359 reports at 0530hrs Bridge #399 was blown at approximately 0530hrs. PF Platoon 113 at approximately 0100hrs broke security on the Bridge and went to sleep in bunker 60 meters from the Bridge 20% of the Bridge and Northern Head Wall were completely destroyed, the eastern ha approximately 80% damage. The Western Head Wall is still standing and will hold light traffic. The Bridge has been closed by Charlie Company 39 Engineer, the by pass is washed out but is being repaired. At 2100hrs 26 Engineer by pass at Bridge 399 by pass is now passable to one way traffic.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for Land Clearing Operation. Alpha Company is at BS833437 working with joint operations with the ARVN and continued to use multiple patrolling and Day and Night ambushes in their Area of Operation. At 1630hrs Alpha Company at BS794475 detained 4 VCS, no ID, and evac to Bronco, and at 1950hrs Alpha Company Night Defense Position BS833437, and 92 at BS795458. Alpha Company Engineer report Land Clearing Operation 100 Acres cleared BS818427, BS820428, BS826413 and BS828414.
Bravo Company
November 19, 1969
At 0920hrs Bravo Company at BS797438 pick up male VCS he evaded but was caught, no ID, dressed in black P.J., 19 to 20, also 2nd VC dressed in black P.J., 25 will both be evac to Bronco for questioning. At 0920hrs at BS765443 found 2 VCS hiding in a bunker, 16 and 37, no ID in same area found a tunnel with secret passages to the bunker, destroyed both, and will evac the VCS to Bronco, and will be putting out multiple ambushes tonight.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company Combat Assault our 93 element to BS742522 and last LZ 0723hrs. At 1805hrs the 93 element inserted into grid BS773413 for three days mission (12 men in element) last LZ 1828hrs. Charlie Company continued the Security Mission for LZ Liz.
Delta Company
November 19, 1969
At 1200hrs Delta Location is at BS759447 and At 1900hrs Delta Company reports on 14 November 1969 found 3,200 pounds of rice, on 15 November 1969 found 4,400 pounds of rice on 17 November 1969 found 16,640 pounds of rice and on 19 November 1969 found 7,040 pounds of rice. Most of this rice was buried in 55 gallon drums and some rice was buried in the floor of huts. At 1950hrs Delta Company is moving into their Night Defense Position at BS760443, 12 at BS765426, 63 at BS765439, 64 BS771443, and 14 at BS772426.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 0830hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS765450. At 1000hrs Recon Platoon has closed on LZ Liz.
