Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0617hrs the TMF at 0612hrs String 66a was activated by 3 personnel that where moving northeast to southwest at 2 miles per hour with metal detected. It was engaged with 6 VT rounds of Artillery105mm. At 0836hrs 1-20 Infantry Battalion Commander we have 2 VC with weapons in a hedgerow at BS743614. We are keeping them under cover as the Delta 94 and Delta 21 elements are sweeping to their location. A LOH and sharks worked over the area with negative finding. S-5 Report: At grids BS7353, BS7459, BS7160 a total of 84,000 VIP leaflets were distributed for PSYOPS operation in a1-20 Infantry Area of Operation. In conjunctions with these drops, over 110 minutes of tape time played, including 1 early word broadcast to BS7363 on VC/NVA Chieu Hoi. There were 2 Brigade night broadcasts at grid BS7461 and BS7849, also utilizing the Chieu Hoi Theme. At Tu Son Hamlet, Mo Duc District, 1-20 Infantry medics along with Vietnamese nurses conducted a joint Med Cap at BS763480 with 71 Vietnamese Civilians treated. At 1300hrs the Division IG discussed an Artillery incident with the Brigade S5 which occurred at BS758458 on 12 April 1970. The questions were concerning the location of hamlets and where the rounds where the rounds impacted. On the particular incident the S5 paid 16 Vietnamese civilians 22,000 $Vietnamese solarium as a representative of the Brigade S-5. At 1730hrs Charlie Company 26 Engineer reports a total of 21 hours were worked clearing 22 acres at BS739493 to BS741595 to BS739598 to BS736594 (200X500 Square meters). We destroyed 1 155 round and 1 8" round and used 200 gallon of fuel. 3 D7 are operational with 1 deadline with a track blown off and 1 CEV operational and 1 deadline with a transmission.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz and Access Road Security.
Bravo Company
June 19, 1970
At 0900hrs Bravo Company the 75 and 76 elements in the area of contact found a can full of explosive and smoke grenade fuse booby trap, it was destroyed in place at Bs793468. We also found the KIA had been moved inside the bunker. Bravo Company we are in our objective and found a M26 hand frag booby trap with a trip wire and it was disarmed at grid BS793468. At 1050hrs Bravo Company 75 and the 76 element while on their patrol this morning, thought they had movement in a hedgerow at BS793468, we engaged with hand frag with negative finding, after we closed a female, 30 with no ID, walked into the North Bridge with frag to the legs. She admitted being in the area and we are taking her to MACV Duc Pho. At 1100hrs at the same location 2 more females pick up all sent to MACV for questioning.
Charlie Company

At 0740hrs Charlie Company the 17 element has one male detainee about 16, with no ID and dressed in all black at BS740492. We picked him up near their ambush location. He was a PSDF and released. At 1945hrs our Night Defense Position at BS740477 with 3 roving patrols out this evening.
Delta Company

At 0710hrs Delta Company we have our Day Logger at BS734613 with the Condon and Search was complete with negative results. At 0715hrs Delta Company the 91 element is moving to the west toward BS748614 and the 21 element is moving south toward BS730605. At 0730hrs Delta Company 91 and Charlie Company 26 Engineer are moving to our work location at BS728596 and we found 1 60mm tail fin from last night’s mortar attack. At 1135hrs Delta Company the 94 and 21 elements have closed. They were patrolling in the area where the Battalion Commander spotted VC this morning. The only results were 5 to 6 small tunnels and spider holes destroyed with hand frag at BS743614. Helix 37 spotted 2 Vietnamese 1 mile to the east of Delta Company Day Logger. 1 was carrying something over his shoulder and they ducked into a hedgerow. He is hunting for them now at BS744614. We will send a patrol out into the area and are moving out now. The last known enemy position is BS730621 with a total of 6 VC who mixed in with civilians (2) at that location. At 1350hrs Delta Company request an urgent Dust Off for two US with Temperature of 104.1 and 103.7, #141W (Williams) and the 21 element Medic. At 2029hrs we are in our Night Defense Position 200 meters west of BS742615, the 93 element is at BS737620 and the 21 element is at BS740614 with multiply ambushes. PVT Lawrence Williams was evac to 23rd Medical. The Medic Unknown, SP4 Marlin L. Lamb was evac to 27th Surgical Hospital (see June 17, 1970).
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 4.2 Platoon reports Fire Mission 9 for a total expended of 84 HE rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. At 0650hrs Recon Platoon we have 2 male detainees, 1of detainee 45 years old and was dressed in a purple top and blue bottoms, at grid BS748438. The older person saw the US and started evading. He stopped at hootch and called to the younger man inside, both of them started to evade but were caught, and turn into the Military Intelligence. Recon Platoon returned to LZ Liz and their Security Mission for the Battalion.
