Forward Area 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Thunder as the Battalion returns to Control of the 11th Light Infantry Brigade Control in the Duc Pho Area of Operation. At 0945hrs Division G-2 Intelligence reports indicate movement of 2 regiments from 3rd Division NVA to Quang Ngai Province. A great deal of intelligence information indicated these regiments continue to move north from Binh Dinh province and are presently located North Song Re Valley and Easter Song Tra Khuc Valley. At the same local intelligence from local reports indicated that preparation for a major offensive in Quang Ngai province with Quang Ngai City as the major target and it appears that 3rd NVA Division will partake in this Offensive. 1-20 Infantry had picked up the OPCON of Delta Company 4-21 Infantry and Delta Company 1-52 Infantry takes the Operation Control of 3-1 Infantry Area of Operation. At 1000hrs Command and Control Helicopter 1-20 Infantry vicinity BS7650 received 10 rounds of small arms fire, detained 2 VC one 20 dressed in blue, on 30-35 and neither of them had papers. At 1215hrs Delta Company 4-21 infantry 1st Platoon at BS705510, 2nd Platoon at BS713503 with 3rd Platoon at LZ Dragon. 4-21 Infantry 1st Platoon at BS713503, 2nd Platoon at BS722419, and 3rd Platoon at BS730432 with 4th Platoon with Command Post is at LZ Liz. At 1800hrs E Troop is located at LZ Thunder, Delta 4-21 Infantry is at LZ Dragon with ambushes at BS723512 and BS725510 with Delta Company 1-52 Infantry all at LZ Liz. At 1835hrs ARVN Commander: Intelligence Sa Huynh two platoons of VC moved from location given last night to BS899209, Observed 5 man sapper squad with mortar and 2 machine guns at BS933234 with mission to hit LZ Charlie Brown. At 1850hrs LRRP Raleigh insertion completed at BS685358 and at 1950hrs report Night location at BS683352. At 1915hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC at 1915hrs on bridge 107 civilians brought small child up to them with wounds, stepped on a dud M-79 round was dusted off at 1924hrs.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown and at 1215hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon at BS921252 and 3rd Platoon at BS906232. At 1600hrs Alpha Company located at BS921257. At 1755hrs Alpha Company to S-2 1-20 Infantry ARVN Chief B 95 be here tonight Sattuyhn notify that there is a mass exodus of people loading boats and moving out. 600 people were there on the beach a few days ago, and no there are about 35. Interpreters ask people, about the move they reply that everyone else is moving so they are too. At 1800hrs Alpha Company (-) Reports their locations and 1st Platoon at BS920254, 2nd Platoon at BS936222, 3rd Platoon ambushes at BS914234, BS914238 and BS913235.
Bravo Company

At 1050hrs Bravo Company at BS760500 received 10 rounds small arms fire. Picked up 2 VCS 1 20-25dressed in blue, he other 30-35 dressed plaid shirt and black PJ shorts, no papers, were moving southwest, 2 VCS where evac to LZ Bronco IPW. At 1215hrs Bravo Company locations is as follows, 1st Platoon at BS758366, 2nd Platoon at BS757367, 3rd Platoon and Command Post at BS764376. At 1600hrs Bravo Company is located at BS764376. At 1800hrs Bravo is at their Night Defense Position at BS763383 with ambushes at BS762375 and BS768389.
Charlie Company

Delta Company
June 19, 1968
Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Thunder. At 1048hrs Delta Company at BS829328 found 1200 pounds of rice in 6 burlap bags in hooch and 600 pounds in crocks also found 900 pounds of Sugar. At 1215hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon at BS878340, 2nd Platoon at BS830328. At 1316hrs Delta Company is located at BS894340. At 1800hrs Delta Company (-) is located at LZ Thunder, with ambushes at BS878346, BS874338 and BS882337. SGT William E. Watson was evac to the 6th Condolence Center at 0930hrs and attached.
Echo Company
June 19, 1968
Echo Company is located at LZ Thunder where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Thunder. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Thunder where they continue to provide direct fire support for the Battalion. At 1215hrs Recon Platoon reports Recon 1 and 3 at BS818406, Recon 2 at BS823406. At 1800hrs Recon Platoon reports their locations Night defense Position at BS815407 with ambush at BS812408. At 2300hrs 1-20 Infantry Change of Plans: Recon will Search and Clear from Night Defense Position to BS829397, BS834396, BS830390 and BS on intelligence and 839388 based on intelligence and 7 PRU from PF will work with Recon.
