Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0005hrs Bravo Company LZ Liz LT Woyansky inspected bunkers 1, 2, 3, 17, 16 and 15 with all rated satisfactory. At 0213hrs Warlord Blue into Box 65 at BS822282 engaged 1 bunker resulting in 1 bunker destroyed and out of Box at 0520hrs to Bronco perimeter. At 0300hrs Warlord Blue is en route to LZ Liz perimeter. At 0310hrs Warlord Blue is en route to Quang Ngai for fuel. Warlord Blue back and into Box 64 at 0337hrs out of box, at 0350hrs to check LZ Dragon perimeter, and broke station. At 0415hrs Bravo Company LZ Liz LT Dolen checked bunkers 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 satisfactory. At 0710hrs LZ Liz Access Road has been mine swept. At 0820hrs Area of Operation for Delta Company: BS7540 to BS7536, to BS6936 to BS7139 to BS72740 to start ASAP to 30 July 1971, BA TO (MC), 4 ARVN (Can), Brigade (WTS), Duc Pho (DRC). LATE SPOT At 0944hrs MACV Mo Duc at 181714hrs vicinity BS742674 RF 180 made contact with unknown size enemy force resulting in 1 VC KIA, documents CIA, no US confirmed. At 0949hrs MACV MO Duc at 182030hrs vicinity BS745669 PF 160 made contact with unknown size enemy force resulting in 1 VC KIA and 1 M-16 CIA, not US confirmed. At 1338hrs 1-20 Infantry Combat Assault of Alpha Company 1st PZ 1249hrs to BS691478, BS725442 and BS711478 Last LZ at 1330hrs and AMC is released at 1335hrs. At 1425hrs 1-20 Infantry Helix 37 is on station at this time. At 1600hrs 1-20 Infantry Primo 3 is on station at this time and broke station at 1652hrs. At 2015hrs 4 ARVN Recon while conducting a Combat Assault at vicinity BS855359 made contact with unknown size enemy force resulting in 2 VC KIA, 3 VC WIA were credited to gun ships covering the Combat Assault, 1 carbine and 5 Chi Com grenades CIA. At 2047hrs Warlord Black is on station for Box 65. At 2130hrs Warlord is out of Nighthawk Box 65 with negative findings. At 2131hrs Warlord is going to check LZ Bronco perimeter and at 2144hrs going around LZ Liz perimeter and at 2155hrs broke station with negative findings. At 2137hrs Nui Vong on practice Alert with cease-fire at 2140hrs, has achieved 100% at 2138hrs, fired Defense Targets, Illumination, Officer in Charge reported that people reaction was satisfactory. Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for Chu Lai.
Alpha Company
July 19, 1971
Alpha Company will continued to use Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. Alpha Company conducts a Combat Assault 1st PZ at 1249hrs and last LZ 1330hrs released Birds at 1339hrs. At 1420hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon at BS693474 found a can of Petna with pressure release device and was blown in place. At 1935hrs Alpha Company all elements in their Night Defense Position Command Post and 2nd Platoon at BS711478 and 1st Platoon at BS695473 with 3 Mechanical Ambush out.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company Continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz and Access Road security. At 0005hrs Bravo Company bunker line is inspected by LT Woyansky and given satisfactory. At 0415hrs Bravo Company Bunker line is inspected by LT Dolen and was given satisfactory.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company set up Patrol Base and conducts multiple patrols in their Area of Operation. At 1947hrs Charlie Company Command Post and 2nd Platoon moving in to their Night Defense Position at BS704518.
Delta Company
July 19, 1971
Delta Company will continued to use Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0727hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon is moving to Patrol Base at BS736396. At 0750hrs Delta Company Command Post and 2nd Platoon is in Patrol Base at BS743384. At 2005hrs Delta Company all elements on the move Command Post and 2nd Platoon moving to BS728395, 2nd Platoon with ambush BS742400, 1st Platoon at BS743395 and 1st Platoon ambush at BS734397.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 0625hrs Recon is leaving Night Defense Position and moving to LZ Liz. At 1835hrs Recon is moving out to vicinity BS767416 and closed on location at 2014hrs.
